Hi guys,

I'm going to launch an ebook pretty soon and I have 1 question,
what is the best way to get testimonials?

I've seen a lot of people giving away free of their ebook in return
for testimonials, is it the right and the best way?

Yup, asking a few Warriors for a tesimonial would be a good way to get started.

Then once the sales come in, you can give a bonus to your customers in exchange for an honest testimonial.

And if you can ask them to be more specific about the results (ex: "I lost 12 pounds in 5 days"; NOT "I lost a lot of weight in just a few days."), the better.

That would probably be the fastest and easiest way to get testimonials. By giving a free copy to warriors.

What subject is the book on?

The best way to do it is just ask, send a few people a copy for a honest review..

I say honest because if there is something that needs to be changed you can do so then it will even be a better product.. You could even send them the revised copy and let them review again..

Hello Nizzura!

Yes freebies are one of the best ways and probably the most common way to get testimonials. If you have an existing subscriber list you could perhaps choose a select number of them and offer the ebook in return for testimonials. Maybe some of your earliest subscribers or send out a broadcast to your list offering a free copy to the first 5 or 10 people who reply.

Just ask the reviewers to be honest with their replies, and as Michael Lee stated above to try and be specific in how your ebook helped them. You can also tell them that in return for their testimonial you would be willing to put a link back to their site, if they have one, giving them a back link to their web site.

Testimonials are a great sales tool if used properly. But I am afraid that many people now are starting to doubt the validity of testimonials. Don't worry about getting tons of testimonials as it can come across as being phony to some viewers if you seem to have a huge amount of testimonials.

Vegas Vince always cracks me up.

But this is true in the real world. In fact, I came across a site months ago where you pay a rather hefty fee for a testimonial. I just can't remember the link exactly.

Hi Nizzura,
I'll have to say that it all depends on what you're offering, product or service. Just like you, I'm also right now trying to gather testimonials for my design services which I intend to use in my website, (see my sig below). Since yours is obviously a downloadable product, I'd suggest you give away free copies to selected warrior members and ask them to review and give you their feedback which you can use as testimonials - with their permission, of course.

One other way is to establish firm friendship in the forum... i mean solid friendship where you help one another out. It's alway easier to get somebody who u know to write u a testimonial for things that you have help them out in the past. then again, u still have to give them the product for review.
