Start with an Autoresponder, Relevant free offer, & relevant squeeze page!

These are all things that can easily be learned with all of the free information available.

    Wishing you the best,

I agree, forget about starting that list till you have your autoresponders done.
Ways you can do an autoresponder is write the content yourself. Take a plr ebook and take pages, posts or chapters out for each mail. Make quite a few of them. You can also have the plr rewritten just for you.

The best way though is to create a completely new set of emails from scratch.

I am not as aggressive as some of these guys. My responder sends an immediate mail then it will send the product, after that it won't send for about two days, then three days, then every three to five days. I usually send out 8 before I send a sales email out.

The good is Im not bombarding them with emails. The bad, I could be losing sales because they unsubscribe before I get to the sales email.

    Hey Arran -

Nothing too complicated with list building to be honest.

Get yourself an Aweber account, setup a nice friendly welcome email. Then, get back on your site and start adding subscribe forms everywhere. Perhaps even splash out on an opt-in popup but tweak the settings so as not to annoy users too much.

If you don't have a website with traffic then think about giving away some free products here on Warrior Forum or alternatively get yourself into guest posting.

    We've all gotta start somewhere.

Good luck and if you have any more specific questions then I'm happy to chime in!

P.S. I would say I love the new style of themes where a subscribe box is very prominent on the homepage. Best example I can think of:
Sparring Mind: The WordPress Marketing Blog

Also a fantastic website with great content!

    Hi Arran,
I have produced a 130 page guide called my "First Win Formula" that deals with just that using a tried and tested technique that I have adapted to be as easy as possible. It is a paid for product but as it is in "pre-launch" right now I would be prepared to let you have a free copy. All I ask in return is that you proof read it for me (mis-spellings etc.) and give me a short review/ testimonial for use in my sales copy.
This technique started building my list for me - my first win.
It is a genuine, no strings attached offer so hit me up with a private message and email address to send it to.
    Cheers.

If your just starting out, You can use listwire.com it is a free autoresponder service. I do use aweber but not very much. I usually use Garys listwire.com I know a good amount of coding and can change things up. But it is free if that is what you need now.

Get yourself set up with the following:

          1. set up Aweber account
          2. landing page with a free giveaway
          3. autoresponder messages set up to build a relationship with your list.

get some traffic to your landing page, and test whats converting and whats not. Copy is important on your landing page for conversions, even the button and what it says.

Make sure your free give away for your subscribers is of value, and your autoresponder messages are keeping yur subscribers excited but your being truthful with them and yourself.

          thats a start.

          Birdi

P.S. youtube has alot of free videos showing how to set up an aweber account, building a landing page, setting up your optin etc.

Start with picking your niche. Work out who you want on your list and what they will be there for - what they want and need.

Then follow the great advice from this thread - get an autoresponder service like aWeber, create a high value giveaway for your target audience, create a squeeze page for your giveaway on a standalone domain that will collect their email address and give them the giveaway, then go out and promote the giveaway. Then follow up with them to build a relationship.

The giveaway in my signature is an example of how to do this. I think you'll find many other examples in other people's signatures here.

Did not even think he may not have a niche yet.

Get an email autoresponder, setup a squeeze page and give something away in return for their name/email.. Build a relationship with this list, give them lots of value or else they won't buy from you

If you google "squeeze page templates", there are a lot of great templates that are easy to modify if you're not into html and programming.

If you don't want to go for an autoresponder trial, you could use Mailchimp which is free. I have been using it for some time now.
