Referral traffic from Facebook?

Google Analytics shows all facebook referrals as facebook.com/l.php

Does anyone knows a way to get more precise referrals? Someone sending me tons of facebook traffic and I don't have a clue who!

    I've tried to figure that out in the past and have found it to be a mission and a half!

    I concluded that it might be from a newsfeed or shared article.

    My reasoning was that when it was coming from groups I tended to get a more specific URL.

    If it was coming from pages....I was also getting a specific URL.

    And if it was coming from ads it had a different URL.

    I know it's not an exact science....and i know that Facebook keep changing the damn way they pass traffic onto other sites.....but its all I came up with at the time.

    Hopefully someone else has a more efficient and accurate system.

    I've found the same thing happening to me. I don't have a facebook fan page, but I'm starting to wonder if I should. Not like I'm getting an avalanche of traffic, but I'm encouraged that people are sharing *something* I wrote! At least I'm not the only one not able to figure out the exact source.
