Unique Visitors From Google?

Sorry about a seemingly stupid question, but I've always wondered - if I want to get the number of unique visitors that came to my site through search engines, do I just multiply the total number of visits via search engines * percentage of "new visits"?

(talking about Google Analytics)

Will that number represent the number of total unique visitors from search engines in a given period of time?

It may sound obvious but after reading through some paragraphs about how new visitors, new visits and unique visitors are essentially different, I'm not so sure anymore.

Thank you

Can you rephrase that question, I've re-read it 3 times and am still not sure exactly what you are asking.

Sure: My client wants an answer to a question: "How many unique visitors landed on my website via Google in the previous month?"

I need to extract this from Google Analytics.

    Hi,

Whatever software you are using to track visitors should have a stat for unique visitors.

If for some reason it does not or you want a look at the bigger picture, your best bet is to install Google Analytics on your clients website.

You can get it for free.

      Hi jt808,

I am using Google Analytics and I can monitor the total number of unique visitors that came to the website. But I cannot seem to extract just the ones who came through the search engines

in the NEW analytics, goto traffic sources > sources > search > organic. change the dates in the top right if you need to.

    simples!
