Does Posting To FREE Classified Ad Sites Still Work?

Hi Everyone, Sandy here..

I'm thinking about purchasing some software
that says it submits to thousands of Free Classified ad sites.

The maker of this software has a good reputation.
The submission software has a good rep too.

My question is:
Does submitting to free classifieds still pull in
valid leads and traffic? Or, do you recommend
strictly paid classified sites?

Thanks very much,
Sandy 'Success Is A Choice' Hall

    Hi Sandy,

I am personally not a fan of push button solutions, often many of the submissions either fail or fall off the page very quickly. I am a fan however of free classifieds but I do it the old fashioned manual submission way.

With any classified a catchy title, and strong call to action is what drives a more successful ad. I also like to build some back links to my classifieds as well just to give them more stability and also so that they will on some platforms show up independently in the search engines.

I have had varying degrees of success with classified systems paid or free but at least with free platforms if the ad doesn't pull well I am only out my time and a little effort with the back links.

    Hi Sandy

    I agree with Amy.

Classified Ads still work - but you will maximize your efforts by doing them manually

What are you planning on using it for?

CPA offers? Affiliate products? Your own site for increased traffic? A product you will sell?

    They all play huge factors.

If it's for any kind of CPA, forget about it. I spent a few months trying to add new spins and create new methods based around classifieds. Nothing ever came from it. Maybe at most $10 a day. It just didn't seem worth the work I had to put into it. The same work could be put into list building and affiliate marketing you could probably make $100-$200 a day.

However one thing I did find classifieds alright with is list building.

for valid leads and traffic, have to find popular Classified websites, like craigslist.org, you can post free Classified in some section while some are paid but great chance for valid leads and traffic.

    I'll say YES!
Well now a days, I am not doing SEO myself as I've appointed few VAs for this work but
last year when I was doing SEO myself I was using free classified ads a lot and trust me
there was a continuous flow of traffic from them.

Sometimes, you need to be a bit tricky and find new ways to monetizing free classified sites. Last year I found a great resource for learning how to get traffic from free classified sites and it was a BOMB!

It tells you how to get your free classified ads rank #1 page on Google and get hundreds of hits from one site

There is no reason that an ad working from manual submission wouldn't work if it was automated.

The people that are so against automation usually was feeding the bot something that was not working in the first place.

My question is about the same, only how do you find free LOCAL advertising classified ads, is there something better than a manual search on Google to find Local places to advertise? Thanks!

Its all in how you do the search string. You might try "free local classifieds in ky (or any state) hope that helps. Backpage has a listing along the side of all the biggest cities if you want to know which ones to post in.

Also try "List of Top Local Classified sites"

I'd say that some of them still work. The ad copy of course is key, and even more so is the title.

Craigslist is still good for posting ads up. I actually need to get back into posting some myself for my sites.

Another good one is Backpage.com (I've used them a few times and had some sales as a result). They're free or you can span several areas or cities for cheap.

And USFreeAds is still pretty good as well, though with them, I think they're better when you pay a bit for their featured services. I've had a few sales from them as well.

So yes, they do still work, you just have to get that adcopy going well and get them to click on that ad. Hey, after all, the more places you get your info and site out there to, the better chance you have of making a sale or two or more!

Classified ad submission give you good response, if you should submit your site in popular sites. In general, Classified ad submission want renew as per site rules. For getting Business from your classified ads, you have to submit your ad with Fresh description and title. You can also upload image too.

I agree Craigslist is the way to go. I don't waste my time with other
classified sites. It's not easy to master but it's well worth it.

    Hello Sandy,
I wanted to drive traffic to a site of mine there are two dozen or so methods. I would pick only two types and get really go at mastering thoes. Then go on to another two. If you want to go with classifieds and you like that then I say go for it. Get really good at researching the ins and outs of traffic geneation first. You got to be focused on only 2 types of traffic generation otherwise its throwing the mud against the wall as they say. Classifieds can produce in fact all traffic methods can produce most marketers try a little of this and little of that. Most get overwhelmed and quit. Stay the course...
Good Luck Sandy wish you the best!

Don't do it. What you will find is that 3 days after submitting to the thousands of so-called "classified ad sites, is that none of your ads are located there. I wouldn't use it. You'll get a temporary increase in backlinks, but after 30 days when your ad has expired... your backlinks will diminish.

If you are going to submit to some classified ad sites, try Ebay Classifieds or Craigslist.

      a word of caution...

Your ISP might automatically prevent the software from working as a way to prevent spamming and/or what it may inadvertently interpret as a virus. My ISP, for example, automatically prevents any type of sudden surge in outgoing data packets for that very reason. So I recommend that you ask for a demo of some sort to see if it'll work with your current provider.

Classified ads still work. They probably don't pull in as much traffic as they used to, but because the sites generally have high PR, links from them are good for SEO purposes.

As long as Craigslist has been around I have been marketing there seriously for the last 2 years and still make money daily with products that have been around for 4 and 5 years and some brand new ones. The point is to put it out there in enough places to enough people and you will make money. No problem!

I love classified ads- they do work- people still read them I have got a ton of traffic from posting on sites like craigslist, backpages, adland pro, received a lot of traffic from Russia seems that other countries respond better than us sites. Cyber fetch is a submission software that gets weekly updates on sites to submit your ads to. There are non us databases included with purchase. I agree with what has been said the more people you get your offer in front of the better you can do. Hope this is helpful.

As most people suggested above, stay away from any automated submission method.
The seo benefit from classified ads is short-lived unless your ad posting is organized and can renew your ads on a timely manner. Traffic is the big advantage but again the targeted the better. You need to advertise only to local demographics that are interested and will buy your services.

Free ads posting only works if it follows a proven method. You can learn some nuggets from here:

I post my ads manually with a strong title and call to action. But you will find the free classified ad sites will auto remove your ad after so many days. I check my stats often to see which ads are pulling in traffic. JOSourcing is right in that my ISP at times will block a surge in data.
