What are the best ways to advertise my cartoon design business? I've tried google adword but that has yield poor results. I need to think of markets that a cartoon logo design will really work for. All my work at the moment comes from entertainers, which is good but I would like to get into a market where the clients have a bigger budget.

You can post your services in this section of the forum: Warriors For Hire

It costs $20 to post it. But it's well worth it.

Try Odesk, Elance, Guru and Freelancer....

I had to get my cartoonist from Odesk and many people look on those sites for certain things....won't hurt to try!

Thanks, I'll check them out now.

For a high quality logo design, how much would you expect to pay? I currently make approx $150 per logo.

You should do a cartoon WSO. Not sure if you saw the fairly recent GateCrashers WSO but that was a good one.

Hi Scott. Just had a look at your website. Your work looks really great but I think there are a few things that you could do to improve your conversions.

Once your conversions are correct you will have a lot more doors open to you as to where you can advertise.

Can you tell us a bit more on how you used adwords? what keywords did you go after? and what page on your site where you sending them to? What were your conversion rates like? I had a quick look at the html of your site and can't see if you have any analytics installed. If haven't then you might want to install google analytics so that you can't strat to track everything.

The first thing that I notice is that when I land on your site there is no value proposition... No headline. Ask yourself why should a potential customer care about you? What is it that you can do for them. What makes you better than everyone else?.. They need to get these answers in your headline.

Also your call to action could be a lot stronger.
You might want to put a nice big contact us button on each page.

It is a little bit difficult to read some parts of your site due to your font size and font spacing. This is especially true in your side bar.... Speaking of the text in your sidebar what does it mean?

"LOOK is a multi-disciplinary creative design studio, which offers a world-wide service. "

Try and speak in a conversational tone... not a corporate tone.

You are using a lot of prime real estate above the fold Do you really nned to take up all that room with the graphic on top of each page. Don't get me wrong it looks great but always ask yourself the question "Who Cares?" Does the customer care about that image.. Or would they be more interested in a headline on each page that speaks to them and promises to solve their problems?

There are other things I could touch base with you on but instead you might find this post useful.

(Actually his whole blog is awesome.. You should read every post as it will really help you.)

I hope this helps you Scott as I really like the look of your service.

    Cheers Peter.
