Depression is a great topic and can get a very large audience to your site. If you can find the "Problem" and than find a good way to show the audience how to fix it. Than you will go far with this niche. The goal is to fix their problems and provide information such as "causes of depression" or "reasons for Depression"

Point your audience toward the right way to go if they are having problems handling depression. Become their life support, or the thing that keeps them from serious effects of depression. If your blogging create a post saying stuff about great ways to relax and reduce the stress that they are involved in.

Try to motivate and inspire your audience with your writing. Get them to give you feed back on what helps them get through the day. If they comment they might be saving someones life for others to see. Get them to communicate with the articles you are writing and relate to the posts.

If you experienced what they are feeling tell them what you are going through and how you are fixing it. Create a journal saying what works for you and what youre going to try to reduce the pain of depression. Let this Blog make you feel better and the readers feel better. Always create a positive spin to your tone and the way you are communicating to your readers.

If you motivate, Inspire, and create a positive atmosphere you are sure to get a large amount of people in that niche to keep coming back to your website/blog.

    Good luck with it!

As someone who has had a lifelong struggle with severe depression I've often considered starting a site about it.
But I can't see how to montize it?
Personally I couldn't recommend some bs ebook to people who might seriously need help.

On the other hand I know how desperate the readers would be, whatever you marketed would probably sell well

I can't blame you here. Actually, adsense can do quite well in this niche. There are more than a few high paying keywords. You can monetize with adsense, but still provide high quality information. When someone is seriously struggling with depression, an ebook is not what they need.

You could, however, think of selling an ebook marketed towards the family and friends of someone with depression. The book could show them what to look for and how the can handle the situation.

I think mostly information products, and possibly even some nutritional supplements?

It's certainly a very big market, albeit one that raises almost all of the customary legal/regulatory issues involved in anything "medical".

If you have valuable information to share and you really looking for the best of the people here then i think you should go for it.
As said before there are things things that you can advertise, as help books.
People in this kind of situation often look for understanding, not necessarily help. So you need to be very gentle with advertising here, any one who had something to do with depression might often tend to think that no one has an answer for their problem and any slight mention of making money of their problems, will scare them away.

Not really depression niche exclusively, but we do have some depression products, and things like positive thinking, be happy, love yourself, self belief etc.

It is a viable niche and there are people out there looking for advice, products, and help for sure. It is a touchy subject though and I do believe you have to be responsible and do things right - look after people before chasing the $ as such..

      Good niche.

I think many people, including my "old" self, do not realize that they are in depression because they are masking it with some form of distraction.

Maybe offer a depression test indicator.

It's a big market, but I steer clear of it because of the types of people it attracts. People looking to cure depression are the way they are for a reason and a lot of them don't use what they buy. The personal growth niche is a lot more lucrative and a LOT more rewarding.

As another Warrior had mentioned about the anxiety niche, perhaps the better route is to promote solutions for the side problems that come with depression, anxiety, etc. Relationship issues, stress relief, financial management, exercise and nutrition, etc.

I'm a professional in mental health and I haven't found a single "affiliate" ebook product aimed directly at at disorder that I'm comfortable with. I'd consider promoting well-known books by professionals at this point, but that's about it.

That's an interesting niche actually but it will also demand a lot of work esp. providing high quality information in order to monetize it. Just polish your platform, who knows you can have the best site ever. That would be very helpful.

You could create a localized site that is centered around where to get help for depression. Although, that could be a big project compared to just writing about depression and guiding those who have friends and family who have depression and how to help them.

The stress and anxiety niche is a big one and is something that everyone goes through at some point in time. Just like with any other niche, you have to get to know the people in the niche. Learn about common stressors and triggers that motivate them in buy. Forums are a great place to start. Most importantly, add value and contribute to the conversations. Helping people is good.

    Good luck,
    Joey

With 10 million searches I would probably try to narrow down the keyword, maybe manic depression or something like that.
