Grown my niche but no clue on how to market to my list

I started my blog back in 2010 to chronicle my health and fitness journey. At the time it was more of a journal but I soon realised I was into a good niche.

The site receives 2-3k visits a day - all organic traffic. I revamped the site, made a video and wrote a FREE guide. I have around 1500+ people signed up to the list and its growing each day.

Problem is I am a newbie. I am looking for a good product that will help me in how to monetize my list as well as how to write good newsletters that keep my subscribers interested.

I have searched on here and can find a lot of stuff on building a list from scratch but not any on how to monetize an existing list.

Would appreciate any fellow Warriors pointing me in the right direction - as I am in unchartered waters right now.

Thanks

    Ok, great job.

You have really great traffic numbers and responsive visitors.

Believe it or not your website is easily worth 20 grand at minimum even in its early stage.

Just keep on focusing on providing as much value as you can and keep building your list.

There is no need to force anything, you are already doing a great job.

At this point, try and really figure out what your visitors are looking for. What need is it that they need filled. Really try to put yourself in their shoes and figure out what problem you can help them solve.

Once you identify a what problem they need solved, you should find a product that solves that problem and make the offer to your subscribers, but only after you having given a bunch of value for free.

Here is an example for the health niche:

Start by sending your subscribers an email and including a free nutritional chart that will help them stay focused on what foods will keep them healthy.

Next send them another email with a free motivational audio program that will help them stay motivated about their health and fitness.

By about the 4th email you can send a paid offer but you want to make sure that it is something that really helps them. Just keep looking around the web for products to help meet their needs.

When you find a great product that offers tons of value, all you have to do is sign up for the affiliate program and get your link. You will then get paid a percentage of every sale that you make via your recommendation.

The only thing is to make sure that you tell your list that you are an affiliate or partner of the product, and that you fully recommend and endorse the product.

Eventually you will want to start creating your own products once you discover all the different problems that you can solve within your niche (there are literally tons of them, once you start digging!)

I hope this helps and good luck.

    Cheers,
    Joshua

Great points made here. May I just add that you could always just sign up to the more established marketer's lists within your niche and analyses their email sequence and the content they send out to their subscribers maybe this could give you some ideas.

How about leaving the word market out first and ask yourself what I can give to my list they need. Do that about three times then ask how can I market to my list, but it should take care of itself.

I agree ... The best way to find out what you subscribers want is to survey them

    They will tell you.

Great job on getting subscribers already : )

Yup, it's often as easy as simply asking. It's funny how simple IM can really be sometimes.

People forget the "small things" like CTA's and surveys, polls, etc.

You guys are truly amazing. I have not posted very often on warrior as I have felt a little out of my depth. The support you give to newbies to me is second to none, I am truly humbled and hope I can give back as much as you all have.

        Thank you.

Thank you very much for your kind words, I really do appreciate it.

I do feel like a newbie despite the good numbers. It does go to show that if you have a passion for a niche and others share that then the traffic will come. I also have a 'story' in that I lost 70 pounds through an eating and exercise regime. I think people really are drawn to that - especially as I am a guy.

Again thanks for the info- I will study it and draw up a plan. I do make some revenues from the affiliate links that are in my free guide that people sign up to but not enough to help me make this passion a part time or full time job.

Wow, your stats are amazing for someone new in the field. I doubt if you didn't have passion in this field, you would be doing so well so quick. It just goes to show people should choose niches based on their interest more so than anything else.

I'd say the best way to find out what to market to your visitors is to ask them what they are interested in. Of course, you'll have to pick options within your niche. Go on Clickbank.com and find products that you think would go well on your website, and then ask the people themselves if any of them interest them.

    Best of luck!

As far as writing email copy... A great way to get ideas is to sign up for the lists of other people who you think write great emails. Save them all in a folder (or just create another email address) and build a swipe file that you can look back on and get inspiration from when you're writing your emails.

They wouldn't be on your list if you hadn't sold them something.

So you already know how to sell them something. Just do that again.

Try to find some courses on list building, and promote this list with related offers to begin with I suppose.

Not sure if I missed this in a reply already... but why not SURVEY your list to find out what they want? SurveyMonkey is a great resource. Say: What do you want to see now? (in essence) Let them give you feedback that can direct you from here. Thank them with your free report.

You don't need to sell them anything. Keep giving value and sharing your story. Use affiliate links for any products you currently use. I recommend Sandi at ARealChange.com to give you superb direction with list building, working with your current list, etc. She is awesome and can REALLY give you a lot of help.

You have built a site in a good niche and your numbers are incredible. Your site is most likely not too sales'y and full of good content which is an attraction so keep that in mind but you can make some real money with those numbers.

You have several options from adsense blocks to Amazon to Clickbank and any number of CPA offers that have free trials. Regardless what you have built is a road toward quit your job income.

Whatever you do you must test and track results and you can do that without appearing you are selling. You can do that with sincere recommendations of products or services you know are beneficial.

    Good job-rinse and repeat.
