A list of everywhere that I can embed a YouTube hosted video to get backlinks

I'm doing a lot of testing on how to get new videos ranked high inside Google so that they have a chance of viral views.
I am testing initial views and comments, likes etc.
I now need to find out how much impact it has on their ranking (in YT and in Google) when they get embedded on third party sites.
It seems that if a new video gets strong early views and comments/likes/favourites PLUS off-YT embeds, it does well in YT's algorithm and as a bonus ranks well in Google too.
Who knows of sites that function like Article directories where I can submit an article with the video embedded or just the video to do just that?
Can you do that at most ordinary article directories?
I'm trying to build a list of places that I can go and embed the YT video in any way. This is NOT the same as uploading the video separately to Vimeo, Daily Motion etc.
Am I barking up the wrong tree?
