10 Good Reasons Why You Should Go With a Larger Infoproduct

After being in internet marketing for several years, here is my advice if you really want to make big money online...go with bigger and more expensive info products. Sure, you can still make profits on smaller ebooks, etc. but I think going bigger is much easier and MUCH more lucrative when you hit a good niche. And it is NOT as hard as you think (but yes, you have to W...O...R...K at it).

Here are my top 10 reasons (in no order) why you should stop going for the simple few cents in Adsense, trying like crazy to promote someone else's product for a mere $10 a sale or a cheap ebook...and go with a larger info product even if you have to invest in a few people to create it for you or work on it yourself for a few months.

The payoff can be life changing.

10 REASONS TO GO BIG ON INFOPRODUCTS:

1. If you can sell a $27 ebook, you can sell a $97+ infoproduct.

2. You don't have to sell as many copies to make good money.

3. People, in most cases, will perceive a higher priced item as higher value. This will set you above the competition if done correctly. But be sure to deliver!

4. It's WAY easier to advertise in the PPC arena because you have more you can spend on clicks and STILL make a hefty profit.

5. It's also way easier to advertise offline as well because just a few sales will usually pay off your ad. The rest goes in your pocket...and once an ad works, you simply just run it over and over again.

6. Simplicity to make it and create it. If you can create a $27 ebook, you can simply turn that into a multi-part course in print, audio, etc. and also bonus reports, "quick guides", "cheat sheets", etc. Its very easy to put together a full "package" of info. A basic blueprint is: one main guide, one quick guide, a checklist, an audio interview with an expert in the field (in print and in audio)...and sell it all on multiple CD's and print guides.
Don't forget to mix in a few affiliate links for extra cash. ;-)

7. You can pay more to your affiliates and by doing so, you can gain MORE affiliates. More affiliates that can make more per sale, equals them working harder and more cash for your pocket in the end. Everyone wins.

8. You are WAY less likely to get ripped off versus something like a $27 ebook. Why? For one, its a physical and printed product. Two, it is not a download...so less chance of getting ripped off. Three, a "package" product is not easy to mimic if you don't know what you are doing compared to just ripping and copying one simple PDF ebook. Crooks want to rip off things quickly and cash them in...they don't want to work very hard in many cases.

9. You can sell it EXCLUSIVELY on eBay with little to no competition.

10. Less refunds. Why? People are lazy when they have to send something back, it's a big hassle and many will put it off.

Those are just 10 good reasons why I say go with larger infoproducts, but I know there are more. I'm sure many of you know this, but for you newbies...take note.

Cheers!

I really like the advice, reminds me of mafioso marketing, tho JD starts off with the £47 ebook and gives affiliates most of the commish so he can sell the backend products and he doesnt talk (i dont think) about actual physical products.
There is a recurring theme i;ve noticed and its that some IM undervalue their products/services.

Great info - thanks for the post.

However, quality would be an issue. You need to make sure you are providing high quality information. This takes time to learn.

Could be well worth the effort though.

I've never understood why people charge so little for their products.

Wow! Thanks for the post, you made some great points. Can a $27 ebook really be sold as a $97 ebook if you're not a guru?

First...Being a "guru" has NOTHING to do with it so drop that mindset. In fact, most "gurus" I really don't care for.

Second...You are not just taking a $27 ebook and then bumping the price to $97. You have to take the concepts of that ebook and go into more detail and info in multiple guides, reports, audio's, etc. and make it into a "package".

Let's say you want to make $1000 a month. Break it down...

$1000/month = 37 sales of a $27 ebook...and that is with NO advertising expenses. So in reality, you will most likely have to sell MORE ebooks than 37.

      Now look at this...

$1000/month = 11 SALES roughly of a $97 info product. That means, one sale about every THREE days. Is this possible? VERY. But the reality with this is your going to have costs of printing in your package. So let's say, that for every $97 sale, you have $15 in costs per unit, and say, $10 in advertising. So...97-25 = $72/per sale. Still not bad. So at this more realistic rate, you will have to sell around 14 units..or one every two days. Not bad at all. And don't forget mixing in highly related affiliate products within your package info and in emails to your opt-ins on your site. This will slightly increase the amount you earn as well.

My point is, if you have an ebook that you can successfully sell at $27, then take the time or invest the money and plan out a multi-part, larger packaged "premium" infoproduct. And then ask a premium price. This is not rocket science, and those online that make a killing do this already.

Thanks Dayne for this very informative post.

I always believe that if you want to create
a higher price, create enough value to match
the price point and go full steam ahead to
    sell at a higher price.

With a higher price, you will be selling less
units and I personally believe that those
who are willing to pay more for a product
are more serious in a way and there
    is certainly less refund.

    My 2 cents,
    John
