Questions about my ebook sales strategy

Hi,

I recently purchased a website / blog that sells a poker ebook. The original owner did some basic promotional things (articles, guest blog posts, etc) and the site has made about 70 sales in the past 2 months. The book is currently being sold for $10.

I have a few questions:

1) Is the $10 sale price reasonable? I was thinking about upping it to $14.99... However, you can buy a real poker strategy book for $20-30. So, I don't know if I want to up it too much. On the other hand, the content is unique and very little coherent advice on this particular poker format is available anywhere else on the web (and not at all in any book that exists). The book is about 22 pages long. Any advice on price?

2) I was thinking that I could set up an affiliate program for this ebook... I could certainly offer a high % commission. Is the value of the book high enough to warrant affiliate sales?

2a) if I did decide to set up an affiliate program, what site would be the best to do this through?

3) The site currently collects money through paypal... Is there a way to collect the email addresses of the purchasers with paypal? Or would I need to add some sort of form? I'm not sure how to go about this...

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey eniven,

Pricing around 27 - 47$ is good for this kind of e-books. And definitely you need the affiliates to promote your products to get massive sales & you can give affiliates commission as 65 to 75%.

There are many affiliates programs out there. But my suggestion is you can sign up with clickbank or paydotcom. they are very much professionals & having more than 100,000 affiliates so you can leverage easily.

You will get the customers email address automatically once they purchased the product. Especially if you are looking for immediate payout, then paypal checkout is the best option, after customer placed the order he/she will be redirected to the download page & paypal will collect the customer info & send to you.

You can sigup with paydotcom so you can get paid on your paypal directly & withdraw the money quickly. Not only that, you can leverage on morethan 100,000 affiliates & expect huge sales. Happy selling.

    1. I would test the price at $17, $27, $37, and even higher. Your conversion rate will also depend on how good your salescopy is. If you don't know how to write great salescopy, there's plenty of warriors here that you can hire to improve the salescopy.

    2. For any product that is priced at least at $10, I would set up an affiliate program. But to attract more affiliates, I would increase the price because high commission payouts would attract more affiliates.

2a. Most popular affiliate programs are Clickbank and Paydotcom. What's the best though is up for debate.

    3. Customers' email addresses are shown when they purchase with paypal. But I would get their permission first before I send them promo emails so on the download page, place an optin form. To entice them to subscribe to your list, offer a free ebook related to poker.

So is there a way to automatically save these email addresses? I get an email sent to me each time I make a sale, but as far as I know I would need to copy and paste each address into some other document individually... I'd like to automate this process if possible. Also, how would I code an opt-in form?

Do poker products have a lot of refunds? If it's like Forex, I don't think you would be able to get a lot of affiliates. But then again, I haven't done that stuff for over 3 years so I don't know how it's like now.

So far I have not had any refunds and the original owner told me that he also hasn't had any refunds.
