Share a virtual hard drive between two machines?

I have my home office base - but also spend a lot of time working on the road/hotels/with family.

Up until now I've used TeamViewer while travelling to allow me to work on my office computer.

I'd like to move away from it as other family members would like to use the machine while I'm away - therefore having TeamViewer open won't really work.

I don't so much need to use my office machine, but do need to access some important files stored on it.

Is there any way I can store my important files on some kind of virtual hard disk - and recall it on any computer?

I hate plug-in devices, with all of that plugging and unplugging.

Is there just a web-based drive I could use? Something that would show up in the 'My Computer' list on my laptop and office machine, so I could store files on the cloud?

*EDIT* - I do have a DropBox account. Could that work?

How large are the files? What about a google docs account?

How about emailing the files to yourself?

Yes, use Dropbox, easiest to use, cross-platform, etc.

First of all... this is not a place where we discuss these problems, secondly you are something which depends what you want, if you are just using microsoft office or similar files, then you might look to migrate to google docs, which is free, if you have hosting then you might want to look for Managed File Transfer, Document Collaboration Software, Secure FTP or ftpdrive which will map your hosting as a local drive, and can be accessed from anywhere.

    Hope that helps!
