Where The Hell Are My Keywords?!?!

My site is in my sig.

Im trying to optimize the 3 words:

Dog Food Recipes

And pretty much not getting any results as far as the search engines go. I have tried to add the words as many times as i can in my posts. The titles of many of my blog posts have those words in it. My domain and my title have the words in it. And i even comment on others blogs with those words using my url as a link.

Im stumped.

Any clues?

        Those search terms are pretty competitive. Are you ranking for any long tail terms?

        You need to know what terms you are ranking for so that you can optimise your site for the long tail. Google Analytics is best but not sure you can use it in blogger. Otherwise try the google webmaster tools.

        What is your aim for the site? Is it adsense?

        Why did you choose that search term in particular?

    I don't want to see that Doggy Bolognese coming back up!

    The problem is links. You're only showing about 12 incoming links in Yahoo and those aren't anchored on your keyword. You will need to build backlinks on your keyword "Free Dog Food Recipes".

      Might be a dumb question - but how long have you been working on these keywords? It's getting a lot quicker, but the search engines still take SOME time to index things...

        start building them. Way more important than on site keyword optimization.

    The number 1 spot seems to have about 36,000 backlinks and you've got about 15.

    I agree - you need more backlinks! Even the #10 site has over 1,000 backlinks.

    And it is a very competitive term so you might try making posts on some of the long tail keywords that Tina was so kind to supply you with - be sure to get backlinks to those posts and use the keyword in the anchor text of the backlinks.

    You need to keep at it and be patient - looks like the blog isn't terribly old but don't make the mistake that I have made in the past and get discouraged and give up. If you keep working it, you will get more and more traffic.

    Plus that Doggy Bolognese actually looks pretty good....
