Hi guys.

Just a quickie if you can help.
Ive got a ckient who wants to purchase several seo services from me. He found me on ebay.
Thing is he doesnt like paypal so he wants to pay me over the phone today.
What is the best way of doing this?
Ive spoken to a few companies but they all have lengthy application times and i need it setup asap.
He also said he could pay me via bank transfer but i really dont want to give out my bank details.
Any advice wiuld be great

You could use Western Union Online. Just make sure that whatever option you choose ensures that you will get cash in your hand - I've never heard of someone not liking PayPal? Sounds a little fishy. Besides, if you create a payment link in PayPal and email it to him - he doesn't need a Paypal account to pay it - he could just pay via credit or debit card without the need for a PayPal account. The risk is he could turn around and refund on you after you've performed the services. Truthfully, a bank transfer is safest. Most banks today allow you to set up a second or third account online. Create a new account - you can do that today. Let him transfer the money to that account - then you immediately withdraw it or transfer it to your regular account. That could be done immediately.

Rusty is right. I've set up payment systems for the last 4 years. The quickest solution is to set up a separate checking account and let him transfer there. Plenty of people hate PayPal and prefer not to support them.

Escrow? That could work too. And it protects
buyers and sellers both. But WU is also a good
    option.

Western Union can be expensive but it is both quick and reliable. You could check out https://www.escrow.com/index.asp too - it is pretty awesome because it makes your client avoiding paying you all the more difficult.

Wow Rusty, let me share some of my innermost feelings with you...

      I Don't Like PayPal!

      Do some Google searches:
"problem with PayPal" returns 2,160,000 results
"problems with PayPal" returns 154,000 results
      "PayPal problems" returns 78,000 results

We need to support alternative processors!
PayPal is holding way too much money from way too many internet buyers and sellers.

      Judy
