Good alternatives to solo ads?

I've recently set up a squeeze page and funnel intended to build a list within the IM niche. So far, I've had great success with solo ads I've bought from fellow internet marketers. My funnel works extremely well, and I can often times break even (or better) on this targeted solo ad traffic with just the funnel, while simultaneously adding subscribers.

Right now I'm looking for alternative paid sources of traffic to send to this funnel that will give me a relatively comparable bang for the buck. I tried ad fly, which got me a lot of new subscribers, but found these to be mostly "junk" subs who don't really buy (though my experience with ad fly is somewhat limited right now, if you've had better success with it I'd like to hear about it).

I'm primarily interested in paid traffic because I'm looking to build my list up quickly and efficiently-- don't really want to mess around with SEO, article writing, etc. While the solos are great, I'd like to diversify a bit, so I'd love to hear some suggestions on alternatives that have worked well for you.

In addition, is there a really good alternative resource to the site Safe Swaps and the Warrior Forum for finding solo ad providers?

Although none of my niches are IM-related, I have had huge success with offline publications over the years. Most specialized offline publications these days (including biz opp, make money opportunities, etc) have online components.

Come up with high quality content, produce an 'escalating value' sequence of pages, and a reverse opt-in. This helps build a list very quickly.

Since solos are working for you, and since you haven't even scratched the surface with them, why would you want to screw around with anything else? Seriously, there's no traffic quite as responsive as email, with the possible exception of Search PPC and maybe PPV. But for the IM space, even those pale in comparison to email.

Become a solo expert and you can ride that pony for years. I promise it's the best, highest use of your time.

I honestly really don't think there is an alternative to solo ads as of yet. I've tried pretty much everything from Facebook ads, to banner advertising, to PPV etc. And I must say that I'm pretty good too (I can get Facebook clicks for as low as $0.03 per click.) But really nothing out there converts quite like solo ads. I've had some results with Bing ads too, but it's really not worth it for the amount you pay. I suggest sticking to solo ad variants such as ad swapping and clickbanking. The only major weaknesses to solos is that you cannot automate it and have to keep buying and waiting for your ad to be delivered. And it does get pretty pricey too, but I daresay that nothing else on earth converts quite like solos...

Use Pay per click advertising ( Bing is my preferred ) But before you do that listen to me carefully.

The web is filled with Pay Per Click tips designed to help anyone spend less and make more when using services like Google AdWords and Bing MSN. However not all of them are great.

So here`s my best advice to you. Be willing to adjust your tactics at any time using the strategies that better trained marketers have developed. Pay per Click tips are a dime a dozen. Keep an open mind and learn constantly.

    Thanks
    Omar

Just like solo ads, you can also pay to be the sponsor of newsletters or get mentioned in any other way in newsletter.

If you already make good income with solo, I don't see any reason to switch to something else. Making money with solo ads is very sustainable since you do not need to deal with quality score, panda or penguin.

If you want to take things offline, you could always do direct mail and run a postcard mailing to a list in the SRDS. Typically a 5,000 name minimum, but these are virtually the same thing as solo ads - just offline.

I'd Suggest Bing Ads & FB ads, solo ads are ok but you have to think of it like this.....

lots of marketers go to the same solo ad vendors which means your leads get targeted with alot of offers from alot of different people, which makes it difficult to stand out

which ultimately has an effect of the quality of the leads

now im not saying this wont happen using bing ads or fb ads, but the leads you get through ppc are less likely to be on alot of other lists

    hope this helps

If you can find a smart way to do it, Bing PPC could work. It's not as expensive as Adwords but the traffic is still high quality.

Interesting how everyone is offering suggestions to the OP who started this thread 3 1/2 years ago, and probably hasn't been around since.
I'm ok with people offering suggestions, but realize that you're not talking to "him" so don't say "you." Just sayin'.

You can try search marketing like Bing PPC traffic. It is not that hard to set up and not as expensive as Google adwords.

If you're breaking even or better on solo ads - I would suggest that you focus solely on that, and expand as much as you can exploiting what works for you right now.

If you mess around, you may miss an opportunity.

If you want to augment your solo ad subscribers, you could swap simultaneously with zero effort, and without watering down your focus too much from the solo ad scene.

Just my $.02, I wish you the best.

EDIT: Just noticed this thread is like 20 years old. Still good advice so I won't delete this post.
