Buying Aged Domain with 1 drop vs. new domain

Hi All - I have a dilemma where I'm looking to buy a KW Rich Domain. I have two options in front of me and trying to decide which way to go.

Option 1 - A 4 year old KW Rich domain that has about 4-5 KW phrases that rank between 30 - 40 on SERP. BUT it has 1 DROP.

Option 2 - A new domain registered 10 months ago but has no Drops. Also doesn't have a site on it so no existing ranking.

Which would be better to purchase and optimize? Both are domains costing right at $200. Thanks! LOU

Go with the one that makes the most sense for your business. All the other attributes aren't nearly as important.

    Hi,

One drop isn't a big deal, once you see two or more then it's not a deal. Go for the aged domain!

The way you're talking about it having a drop leads me to believe it was ORIGINALLY registered 4 years ago but the current creation date is newer since it dropped. If that's the case, you need to base the domain age on the creation date, not the original registration date.

Anyhow, you're saying both are KW rich so which KW phrase has better SEO #s for the competition? Which would be more appealing to visitors?

    Hi

Is the 10 month domain name having keywords in it?

What domain name out of the two better suits your business

are you just trying to rank somehow or are you branding your business

The domain name would depend upon that I guess

Moreover,do see the age from the time it was dropped...is that 4 years?

    thanks

The domain was dropped after the first year it was registered. It has now been registered for the last 3 years.

The domain does match my KW and has a little better market appeal I think than the other one. Therefore, I will grab this one. Thanks for all those who weighed in. Being new to IM, I really appreciate it!

From my personal experience the older one makes life alot easier when trying to rank it. Of course being relevant and keyword rich is just as important if not more.
