Google Search Question

I wonder if any warriors can help with this question from a UK warrior.

As part of my keyword research I often visit Google to see how many competing pages for the keyword I'm considering. It doesn't seem to matter what I do it seems to use a .co.uk extension for Google and many of the first pages that come up are .co.uk extensions.

As a result I'm not certain I'm getting a real picture of the number of competing pages. In addition I wonder if I see one of my pages high in the rankings how much stock can I put in what I'm seeing. My reason for asking is that I'm pretty certain that I need to be ranking high is countries which can put me in touch with more potential buyers than little 'ol blighty can muster

I have to admit this part really stumps me at the moment so it may be that I'm worrying for no reason.

Is someone able to explain it and is there something I can be doing that will increase my chances of ranking high no matter where the search is coming from.

    If you have a .co.uk domain I don't think you'll ever be able to rank well for other countries beside the UK.

    That's a good question though...

    I think only .com domains can rank well across multiple countries but I could be wrong.

      If you are using firefox browser then there is a plugin/extension called "Global Search plugin/extension". You can download it from here and install it in your firefox. it will show you the search results from UK, US, Canada, Aus, and Ireland.

      The firefox extension is called "Google Global Firefox Extension V2".
      Search it in Google, and you'll find the site from where you can download it. I'm unable to post the link here due to my low post count on warrior forum according to the rules here.

      I personally use it in my keyword research, and I hope it'll solve your problem to some extent.
