What numbers are the numbers i need to keep tabs on daily?

What are the important numbers I should be keeping track of daily?

Site Visitors?
Conversion Rates?
Bandwidth (To see if any download links are being shared on warez sites?) Perhaps?

What numbers should i be checking daily-- that I am not?

    I don't know why you'd be so concerned with daily numbers... There's bound to be variance in the number of visitors to your site for a host of reasons... You can't compare Sunday stats to Monday stats really. Maybe you can compare Sunday's stats to last Sunday's stats.

    I'm more worried about weekly stats and monthly stats.

    Hey BizBooks,

    This is a GREAT question. The research that I've done into successful businesses over the years demonstrates that when the correct 'numbers' are identified and tracked religiously, the organization will be very successful.

    As far as what numbers to track - to some extent, only you can answer that. What you need to do is to identify each product or sales funnel. Then identify the specific components of that sales process that have a direct bearing on the outcome. So obvious stuff like conversion rate percentage, number of visitors each day, etc. are all very important.

    You mentioned about tracking bandwidth. This is where I'd draw the line. Tracking your bandwidth so that you can chase a thief or two, won't make you successful. It's simply a distraction.

    So identify those specific metrics, and its ok if the metrics you track change periodically.
