So after not having looked at my site for quite a long while, I checked it out today and I'm getting about 2000 hits a month. I've got it monetized with adsense but maybe I should rethink that. I'm only pulling in about $25 dollars a month with it. Is there something I might try? Besides affiliate promos?

Thanks

I think the reason you're not getting much in the way of replies is that you're not asking the right question.

You may wish to (without divulging your web address) give the niche or at least general niche.

hmmmm....ok. I'll go look. Isn't there something that makes a percentage of the words in the text a hotlink? If I remember you had to have so many hits per month though.

Experiment a little more with adsense

The thing with adsense is that it has to be optimized. Try having a look at CTR Theme - The Ultimate AdSense Theme

I've managed to get a 25% CTR on their templates - the template is alright but looks a little ugly but it does its job. If your getting $25 a month - this wordpress theme could boost it to possibly about $400 a month - give it a try, its $67 when I last checked and well worth the investment.

Alternatively, you could set up a squeeze page, gather and build an email list as well as promote an affiliate product or your own ebook. Then offer memberships and back of house payments for extras & upsells to get the maximum amount of money.

Seriously - the only thing limiting your income is your imagination to make the site as best as possible. Think like a business - what can I do extra to make more money

The key is to UPSELL UPSELL UPSELL and customer service - keep a good rep with any buyers / email subscribers

Thank you for the replies. Is there anyone that I might hire to have a look at the site that could advise about what it may need or "the ulitmate adsense theme"? The rest of the site building sounds like a whole bunch of more work. Unfortunately, I've been very busy lately and don't have that kind of time. Maybe that's why I started with adsense in the first place. I don't remember now.

Ok, so if there is anything more I can do that won't require a huge investment of time I"ll give it a go. Otherwise, I guess I'll just let the site run.

If your looking to gain more money with Google adsense only put your codes on the popular posts only. Instead of having your adsense code everywhere. Test and see which content people are going to the most and monetize those pages.

Instead of trying to monetize the entire website just monetize the areas that are performing at the best level. Your going to be able to test and see which pages are offering you the best results.

Since it's a jobs site have you looked into Indeed? You can post their jobs and get paid per click. No clue if it works, but it would sure be targeted.

I was looking at a study of typical earnings of different revenue sources that suggested most if the affiliate schemes, CB, Amazon, CPA each earned about 3 times what Adsense earns a site, they all require more participation on your part. Your current earnings of over 1 penny a visitor is not bad.
