How to find a proof reader?

I have created a 36,000 word document that I plan to sell as an information product. I want to have it proof read, but not edited. It is written in USA English. I plan to search the Warrior Forum for hire section. Can anyone suggest other sources to find a proof reader? Also any advice on what to look for and watch out for as well as what the going rate is? Thanks for your help. Ed

Have you tried fiverr? Im sure there's someone on there offering proof reading as a service, if not you can request for it.

I would be very cautious asking someone charging $4 ($5, minus Fiverr's cut), to proofread my content. Having an earnings expectation that low would indicate similar abilities.

I see your point there lol However there is a ratings system so i guess if they had 100% feedback they may be worth it.

I agree, but there is so many great gigs that you should take FIVERR like a real option. And you might have to pay for two or three gigs when the document is so long. I assume not everyone would proof read that long document for $5.

        And use Google as well.

Just Google "proof reader for hire"

I just did this and it returned 2,670 results.

There's always ODesk. Just state the work you want done and the price you are willing to pay and see what pops up.
