Are You An Internet Marketing Failure? Answer Me This Then?

So, are you struggling with internet marketing, and even feeling like throwing in the towel.
I can assure you that you are not the first.

My question to the floor is, what is the longest time period (in months or years) that you have committed to sticking with one online business model before moving on and giving up with it because it wasn't working?

When I say this, I mean, what is the longest you have focused on either SEO, PPC, Article Marketing etc without actually giving up and moving on to something else?

I'm convinced that if people would just focus on one method, and one method only for a decent amount of time before giving up because it "doesn't work", they would be sure to see results.

So be honest, how long have you committed to one method 100% (without jumping around), before throwing in the towel?

    Very good point, man. This is the thing that I have been struggling with for years. I have not had the success that I could have had, had I stuck to one method of marketing and business model. I think though that one is really not a failure until they give up altogether. One good thing to have is a mentor or someone to be held accountable to so you can stay on track.

    Yeah I am ... a ****ing failure
    My 1st site failed....
    Reasons:
    1. Took a generic URL like happy-life.com (not real domain).
    This generic domain will take too long time to perform...I m losing confidence.
    2. Wrote amazon reviews for different type of products....camera, kitchen stuff, games....
    3. NO SEO or link building.

        I have been a internet marketer for about 3 years now, but I have only recently become a serious internet marketer the last 9 months.

        Over the course of the last nine months I have ranked 2 niche websites for the #1 position in google and currently working on getting my 3rd there which I think will be a big success.

        No success yet but its on the way.

          I won't say I'm a failure, even though I failed to implement the processes in many of the IM products I've purchased.

          Failing means quitting because I don't want to get back up anymore.

          I'm up and I'll be offering ghostwriting services soon.

    WTF? $2K by your second month and that wasn't good enough. You must already be wealthy. So, what are you doing now online and how much are you making if you don't mind me asking

    Focusing on a specific Internet Marketing (IM) domain is definitely a recipe for success. One of the reasons is that each aspect of IM entails its own set of ever-changing strategies that are necessary to learn in a dynamic market.

    Though it may take a bit longer to discover what aspect of IM appeals to you or that you have an affinity for, focusing on one subject at a time will ensure the best chance of success as you continue to learn. Also, learning one area of IM can always help in a new area.

    My commitment is still "ongoing"...

      My commitment is ongoing also. I just have so much to learn and its quite a bit. I think that a good point is being made here. I spend so much time on keyword research. I have to start writing content for my own sites. Get them set up and start earning.

    8 months and the method never failed. ;-)

    Then I had to use different method to make it even bigger. TBInternetMarketing, it's a good point. I always believed, one should pick a method that interests him/her and stick to it at least 1-3 months to see if it's working or not. Sure it has to be with hard work.

    Think about it in terms of watching TV - You can either sit there with the remote, flipping from channel to channel, never getting to watch an entire episode of anything in particular because you're flipping to see 'what else' is on, or you can put down the remote when you find a good show. You watch that episode. You tune in next week for the next episode, then the next until you've watched the entire series.

    Or imagine you had to buy groceries because your fridge is empty, but every time you headed out to the store you stopped half way or went clothes shopping instead. Would you ever get the food you needed?

    Stick with one thing and go all the way. When you do this, life fills up and gets better. Jumping from one thing to the next is just asking for a life of emptiness. And in the case of internet marketing, a bank account that's empty more often than not.

    I have tried quite a few methods to make it into the internet marketing area, but I guess that not getting quick profits from it didn't motivate me at all. Alot of people told me to keep a strategy going and I'll see the results in the long run, but neither could give me some real reasons or proof in order to do so.

      Yea I guess this is the common problem that everyone faces at some time or another in their IM career. The trick is to stick with it until it does become profitable, but that can be easier said than done.
