ZERO Google backlinks but PR4!

I stumbled upon this site which has ZERO Google backlinks but with PR4. How is this possible?

The website is - Earth247.TV - It still ?

Any thoughts?

    Hi Deric,

    Probably this site has some links from high authority sites or simply this site is faking its PR through some scripts.

      Yes indeed... I know this from first-hand experience.

      I had a site do that also, it was brand new and
      by the first PR update, it was PR4.

      It was also on the 1st page of Google pretty
      quickly after being put up too.

    it is because google does not show all backlinks. yahoo shows more, but still not all. check yahoo, you will find there is a PR5 site links to this site many times.

    Google doesn't show all the back links they count in order to prevent people from gaming their algorithm as easily. A check of their links in Yahoo shows a PR5 link and a PR3 link from an authority site so a PR4 is no surprise.

    Get the SEOQuake plugin for Firefox and it will show you a number of interesting things.

    From experience I can tell you that the latest Google algorithm update rendered massive backlinking close to useless, yet at the same time it apparently gave authority backlinks even more punch.

    Before, any backlink would work, yet authority backlinks counted more.

    Now authority backlinks count a hell of a lot and random backlinks barely do, if at all.
