Any Kansas Warriors?

So I live in Kansas and I have been looking into getting an LLC. One of the main reasons was that I didn't want my name all over the internet. At first I was thinking of getting an LLC to fix that, but then I read more about DBA's. After looking into this I found out that Kansas does not register DBA's, but after reading more I realized that they don't care what name you run your business under as a sole proprietorship, as long as it isn't something like Coca Cola I would imagine.
Does this sound right?
