Has anyone been successful using forum signatures as a way to boost traffic?

I have had some success but it depends on how many visitors the forum gets and if your signature is eye catching. It works but it requires a lot of posting because you need to get that signature seen.

One strategy is to not use your sig for the first week of the operation - if you're dealing with forums that have nothing to do with making money.

This will give folks the impression that your not there to sell.

You can post the same funny, insightful or problem solving thread in all the 10 forums in about 30-45 minutes and come back about an hour later or the next day and respond to comments etc. about your thread.

Then you will get noticed and folks will click on your sig file.

    Hope This Helps!!

Signature posts work but you have to make them stand out
to get best results and post often by helping out as many
forum members as you can by answering their questions/posts.

Forums are good but so much work,
you'd be better off writing articles,
    making videos, using yahoo answers

and so on, get your posts up in forums
if you plan to sell something on them.

      I would agree ^^^

But, I'm still trying to figure out how to capitalize on Yahoo answers.
Any quick tips and examples of what you've seen work?

Becarful with Yahoo Answers. You can put a lot of effort in and they will ban you for no apparent reason.

Some people have had success - but it would be one of the highest banning sites. i.e easy to get banned.

Forum signatures do work - but this is a very active traffic generation method that takes a lot of time.
