Freemium model branding of feeder site and revenue site
Hi
I have a fairly busy site offering free products and I want to eventually feed some of this traffic to a premium content version.
I am considering setting up the premium site to appear very similar in branding and using the same logo design, but changing the actual name of the site. I also plan to change the premium site to blue (as the free site that will befeeding traffic to it is orange) to differentiate between them.
The 2 sites will be using two seperate domain names.
I want to list the premium site as the sister company, the place to go if you want more and better quality than the free site.
My question here is what do people think of this idea? Will 2 similar looking sites with similar logos ( albeit the logo will read differently and the site will be a different colour) be confusing? Should the premium site be completely different?
