Default How to add banner/custom logo to WP header?

Hi

One of my goals in 2009 is to eliminate my phobia of using Wordpress. I'm still struggling with customizing how to put my ads/adsense/banner/ebook cover on the theme. It seems like I always have to deal with the codes (which I always screw up). So far, I've not been able to find anything that is truly WYSIWYG plugin for me to use on customizing a WP theme.

I hope some of you warriors will be able to help point out some tips to me, especially on how to insert an affiliate banner/logo on the header as well as cloaking affiliate links.

THanks,
Choying

To insert a banner/logo depends on the theme you are using. You usually go to header.php and edit directly there.

If you get the right kind of theme, you will see there is an "images" folder as part of the list of files that form part of the theme.

Usually the logo image will be called "logo.gif" or something like that (right click on the existing logo and click on properties to see what it's called and the size of the logo. If it's a .jpg or .gif file, you're in luck!).

It is then just a matter of uploading an image file with the same name and size to replace what's there as part of the theme.

If that made absolutely no sense to you, please feel free to PM me and I'll explain further! lol
