List building for JV purposes? Is it white hat?

Hi, I read of many advice suggesting that IMers should share a list with their partners. I'm assuming that the visitor who opted in to your list isn't going to be happy about the unsolicited partner who begins mailing them out of the blue, right?

I wouldn't ever just give my list to someone. People sell ads so that someone could advertise their product through you to your list.

Yes, you don't actually pass your lists email addresses on to someone else. You just send them an email which promotes someone else (the JV's) product etc.

You're right. Joining one list doesn't give the list owner the right to share the sub with multiple lists.

Just send your Jv's offer to your lists.. If your lists interested.. They will opt in to your jv's mailing list..

    This is completely white hat
