Hey everyone!

I have just had a quick look on Googles keyword tool as I had a bit of inspiration.

The niche in question looks OK with a few thousand searches a month with medium competition.

But the term

'[niche in question] for kids' has 74,000 monthly searches and low competition.

But my question is who would be looking for this? I thought about making an information product but I'm not sure whether I could monetize that search term as kids don't usually have money to spend.

Or would it be the parents searching that I could take money from?

What would you do?

Thanks guys!

You've got an idea for a product and now you're trying to figure out who will buy it. Do it the other way around - find the hungry market first. If you've found a really good domain name with that many monthly searches - think about why that many people are searching for that term. What need do they have that you can fill?

Great advice, target a lucrative market and work backwards. It is often said that a successful business model does one of two things 1) Solves a problem 2)Satisfies a desire or need

If your business neither solves a problem for the customer or indulges a want/need then it's very likely to fail.

It would really depend on what the niche in question is. I mean, if its "horseback riding for kids", then it's probably a parent searching for their kids. If it's "cool places for kids" , then its probably a kid searching for it.

It really depends on the actual search term.

Ben, Rusty hit the nail on the head. Find a niche that is hot, and develop a product or find an product that you can market to that niche.

If you are set on this idea for a product, then see what keywords you can work with to market it. It is not a build it they will come world out there. It's a build it and find a way to market it to the people that can use it.

I hope that this help you.

    Hi,

Sounds intriguing. There's nothing stopping you from finding a way to ask that question to the searchers themselves.

E.g. If you had a domain in the niche already, and wanted to test it, you could effectively split test, giving a kind of "If you're a parent, click here" and take them to a more adult based version of the site, and "Kids - click here!" and do the same kind of thing for them.

I know that is an ugly example to explain it, and you'd be more subtle with it, but you get the idea. If it is the kids that are searching for the product / niche, is there a way you can make it easier for them to buy by making it available for "so-many" Facebook coins (or other social-currencies out there).

Just a couple of ideas, hope you find useful.

    Good luck with it .

    Cheers,

    Newbim.

I think I may have asked the question in the wrong way.

I haven't thought about the product yet let alone created one.

I have just spotted a trend and did a quick search. Now I am thinking whether or not I can monetize it.
