My Cheeky Fiverr Gig....

Having pretty good success with this, and I win on two fronts.

I have a fiverr gig, where people can have their exclusive guest post/article published on one of my blogs. It needs to be relevant to my niche, and I allow two links to be included in the post. I also encourage images.

How cool is that! I get fresh content, plus I get paid $5 for the privelege

cheers
Angela

    Very good idea indeed Angela!

This is what is called, thinking outside the box! I guess your blog has a PR 2 or above?

Hi, I'm a new member here. This is the first post I read. It's a great and creative idea to generate extra income online and automate your blog post, hence killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

However, to make this works, we need to have a high-ranking website/blog first right? That's the challenging part. Mind to share some blogging tips?

My blog is PR2, and it is about 12 months old now I think. I wrote a few articles myself, got a heap off ezine articles, and invited a few guest bloggers. Now I am getting articles from fiverr too, and getting paid for them

I do have a list attached to it, and also nearly 900 facebook likers who I have collected organically. Funny though, I don't market to this crowd as much as I should, it is more of a 'hobby' blog in the pet niche, something I am passionate about

Great, great idea - this is the kinda stuff that I come on the WF for!!

You just can't beat a little lateral thinking.... My blog wouldn't be as attractive as yours but this is def a very good idea. Saves you time having to constantly write new articles for your blog and helps those other folks out by getting a quality backlink and some extra traffic.

    It's a win-win!

Love the idea but you need to be careful with the copyright for the images. Is the quality of the articles decent?

all good now, bluehost have fixed it, site is working again. And got two more fiverr orders since

I ask for images that they have permission to use, and if the quality isn't good enough I will reject and refund their money. So far the quality has been good

It's a unique idea but brings some problems to mind for me.

When you accept payment you obligate yourself to provide the service you advertised. Plagiarized content, copyrighted images, poor language skills and bad writing could be a problem for you and your site.

If you are inviting guest bloggers you retain control of articles you accept. If you are selling spots could be a different story. It's an offer that would need clear guidelines. If someone uses a stolen image, for example, saying "I didn't know it was not his" won't protect you if you publish it on your site.

Kay beat me to it, but I was going to ask if you had any systems in place for trying to catch material given to you that's been stolen (deliberately or otherwise).

Ultimately it'll be you receiving letters from lawyers about copyrighted images etc.

I have this type of fiverr gig as well - my site is also a PR2, but the niche is in music/piano/keyboard, which does not have as many people on fiverr in the music niche. So far I have only had a few orders for that gig. I have another gig that is doing well though Basic services of submitting URLs to Digg, StumbleUpon & Google +1, etc.
Glad to see that you are having good luck with it!

    • On Fiverr I have bought heaven-knows-how-many blog article placements. Usually the blogger writes the blurb herself, though. For $5 I expect the seller to at least cobble together a few sentences. It's your blog, shouldn't it be in your voice?

I have an ongoing series of Blogger Profiles documenting each of these placements with stats on each blogger.

A few things are consistent, though. Usually the blogs are not very high quality because the pay-to-play blogger can't be picky about what she accepts or she doesn't make any money. Remember, Google likes quality links. Low-rent neighborhoods, not so much.

You're selling yourself short, last year we started allowing people to publish on one of my sites for a couple of hundred bucks per article.

The amount of articles I rejected was greater than the amount I published.

So I teamed up with a quality article writer here on WF to provide the right type of content for them and the site, as an all in one package for around $235.

The article writer couldn't cope with the amount of work I was sending them, so 2 more article writers had to come on board to help out - the demand was so great.

10 gigs makes around $40, I think? The same number could easily be making $2,350 (if you used my pricing structure) you won't get the gigs as quickly though... 1 or 2 gigs a day is enough.

I'm convinced that fiverr is, in some ways, preventing people from making the money they're actually worth.

I agree with this and what Kay and others have said in that you need to really keep an eye on your blog and business here. While $5 services and people "giving" you content may look good, beware. We run into more unscrupulous Fiverr folks than we'd like, and so do lots of other Fiverr sellers (we chat on the phone and via other means a lot).

There are quite a few people there with ulterior motives, trying to sneak porn links and other similar types into your G-rated (for all audiences) content networks, especially. And there are some who want such an incredible amount of costly work and services completed for their $5, that it can truly make you wonder if they are indeed sane. And I'm not kidding! When you question these types of people, they act very offended and like YOU are crazy, so again - just beware. (Some even spam you to ask for very time-consuming & costly work for just $5 pay, then get upset when you tell them no way, Jose, and report YOU for spamming, shutting down your communications). That's just one example.

You can truly waste a lot of time and talent there at Fiverr.

      Bottom line:

Keep your gigs and communications to a minimum for lite fun and extra income & leads overall, when possible. And above all, don't neglect your real business. Focus, grasshopper
