Generating Extra Twitter Followers & Facebook Likes

Services that advertise these sort of things - how do they actually do it?

Are these fake followers and likes usually?

I think you can safely assume they are fake.
They might not be exactly fake and for example, achieved in the following way. The "service" provider makes a flood of messages at Twitter that everyone who follows your account will get 50 followers in exchange. Thus a lot of people would follow you just to get these 50 followers. But at the end, I doubt you can expect anything good from the whole thing.

Yes agree.... actually it will not give you much benefit bcoz people who follow you only to get something.

I have tried these services to get "likes" to my Facebook page but my experience was that you just get the "likes", the people themselves don't ever engage or do anything of value.

On my current fan page, keith's money making tips (sorry, I'm just using this as an example) I have generated nearly 4000 likes purely by engaging with other pages, sharing valuable content and making my page a good place to go to for information. I also encourage people to leave good content (not spam/links) on my page too.

If I was going to spend money to get likes nowdays, I would choose Facebook ads. you can get likes for about 30 cents each or less, and they are real people, several of which will engage with the page.

    I hope this helps

    Keith

You can't buy love, friends, likes or followers this way. At least you can't buy worthwhile ones. Mercenaries you can buy though...but who aside from the Kardashians think of mercenaries as worthwhile friends?

        Thanks Keith! I think...

I guess we are talking about the "herd mentality" here are we not? People going where other people are or where they think they are at least. This seems to be the strategy Google+ is using. They keep pumping out exagerated user numbers, hoping to draw more people in to see what the fuss is.

Maybe you can't buy friends, but you can buy cattle . So. assuming these are real people, the question remains, is quantity quality?

        Regards,
        jim

There are businesses, entrepreneurs, etc. who need numbers in order to make money, to grow their business, for better visibility, or to raise awareness of a cause. These artificial means of obtaining massive followers, fans, likes, YouTube views, etc. are means to establish cred so you can generate traffic naturally. I don't use them but have clients who do and so far it's working okay for them.

I found Twiends to be useful inhelping acquire (somewhat) targetted followers free - with a little effort on my part, but not much... There's also another free sicial adder I used once that I found very helpful... can't remember the name offhand, but if you want to go down that route, hit me back here and I'll go root it out for you....

That's true - social proof and all that. It's weird isn't it, people go to where people are going.

If a page to a thread has no followers, people sometimes assume (quite wrongly) that it can't be any good. whereas if a page is getting lots of followers, it must be good lol..

The key here is - WHY you want them.

If you want actual people who you intend to engage with - they're useless. Completely useless!

However, if you're listing yourself in a directory and that directory lists people/businesses in order or followers/likes then the extra numbers will make a useful difference.

So they're either useless or useful - depending on why you want them.

    FYI
the ones sold in bulk could be fake but also if you look deep you can find software to help you build targeted followers for twitter and to help gain likes , so some of these services offered could be the real deal
