I personally think blogger, since it's google, but if you host yourself, definitely wordpress.

I would use Blogger (and i use Blogger). Their plug and play model makes it easy to design your blog, add adsense to it, add amazon products, and you'll get indexed faster in Google... along with the links that are embedded in your blog posts.

Depends on the free hosting account. I used to suggest this when nothing else could help them money wise, Now I do not.

You know when it takes ten seconds for your site to load you lose a whole lot of visitors.

I do suggest one very strong thing though and that is have your own domain name.

Blogger is awesome; every blogger site I've ever started has gotten indexed & ranked within 2-3 days. It's also extremely easy to use, no having to deal with annoying plug-ins. Oh and you get free hosting!

Yeah Blogger is better then any free hosting out there ... First thing that google has reliable servers and can handle a lot of traffic..

But in free hosting .. you are free to get suspended any time ..
If you wanna host then it Wordpress ..

On the contrary, what you say above is the exact opposite to the reality!

Do you have any idea how many Warriors have been suspended from Blogger without knowingly breaching their terms of service and without understanding what they're supposed to have done wrong?! I can tell you, just from the threads I've read and taken part in, it's a VERY large number indeed. :p

The specific problem with Blogger is the fact that you can get suspended at any time, as has happened to countless Warriors.

This thread (and 100 others like it) contains "the scoop": http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...y-website.html

With free hosting, as long as you choose a well-established, reliable one, you're safe and secure and don't have to worry about Blogger's ever-changeable terms of service, nor about their inconsistent and idiosyncratic interpretations of them.

Free Hosting, Paid Hosting, Reseller Services & VPS Servers : Byet Internet

Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel, No Ads

Many people get confused between "free hosts" and "hosts with unreasonable terms of service". They're two different things.

Many people even imagine that with places like Blogger, it's the fact that it's free that causes the problems. It just isn't. It's the terms of service and the lack of accountability for how they're enforced.

      They're very inconsistent.

Maybe it depends whether someone (a competitor?) "reports"/"flags" your blog? Who knows? Who cares? Who needs problems like that all the time? It makes no sense to entrust the security of your business to Blogger when you can get reliable, safe, free hosting for a Wordpress blog (or whatever else you want!) and not have those problems at all.

There is no link. Yet. It will be YOUR "free blogger" site that will make the extreme money and you will come back to teach us how to do it

Thankfully I don't have to choose.

AS far as rankings go, one platform vs the other only comes into effect when everything else is equal.

With the proper traffic and link funnels in place, a sub-domain can get just as much traffic and rank just as well as a top tier.

My main money site is always optimized for a keyword that could take years to rank for. Lesser keywords are used for feeder sites and even lesser keywords are appointed to articles and press releases.

Sometimes it is hard to be a salesman and keep the SEO strong. With feeders you really never need to worry if the main site ranks, although it will from the links from the feeders in time.

        Indeed ...

Actually, if you host at byethost (and this may also be true in other places), you can upgrade in future from their free hosting to their paid hosting without having to move, which is potentially quite a big plus?

(The problem with byethost is that installing a Wordpress blog there isn't a simple, one-click operation through C-panel, as it is with many hosts. But I do know professional marketers who've been using byethost for years and are pleased with it).

I would chose free hosting. Because its easier to control your content. With free blogs the content becomes their content. Last you don't get to personalize a free blog from any of the free blog platforms.
