Video Salesletter Software??

Couple questions about video software

It seems to me that most marketers like jon benson are using the jwplayer and amazons3 to host the video.

Are there any free alternatives to this?

Any tutorials that you know of that show you how to set this up?

Any hacks to take away the navigation bar for youtube, viddler, etc?

Time to give away one of my secrets

I use VTubeTools, you can take away all of the controls for YouTube videos, set it on autoplay, and do some other cool stuff. Looks just like a hosted video except the YouTube logo displays for the first second and also displays if you hover over the video.

But it's a great free alternative.

Take a look at my Free video series on how to do this. Link in my sig
You can use Jing with screen cast or Vimeo is free and also screenr but there are limitations on all of these including the amount of recording time allowed.
If you are using wordpress there are lots of Video player plugins which are free. And with Vimeo you can just use their embed code.

You can do all of this simply in the embed code. No need for VTubeTools.

Amazon s3 is incredibly cheap you can get masses of bandwidth for cents. If you run up a big bill with amazon it means there are 100os watching your Videos which means you should be making a lot of money so my attitude is the bigger the Amazon bill the better.
Also you are virtually guaranteed that your Videos will stream smoothly and you will not have nay bandwith issues

If you want to be serious about running your business then don't use Youtube. Get yourself Amazon S3 hosting (it is DIRT cheap) and a cheap player. You don't want to rely on third party services like Youtube. Your video could be tagged as spam and removed without you knowing and people to your site end up seeing nothing.

    Not a good look.

Amazons3 and jwplayer or flow player is a great option that works great. You can also check optimize press, they have video sales letter templates and a lot different options for your video.

(Also) Framing a youtube video this way is against the TOS, and will get your account Banned, you may get away with it for a time but eventually it will cause you a great deal of frustration, using Amazon, may be a very good thing for a lot of reasons.

It depends on the purpose of the video.

Some things, like your video sales letter, you want to host yourself. There can be a variety of reasons for this. e.g. if in your sales video you're busy pointing to the side of the screen where the option box is - and it's not there - you don't look great. You don't want any youtube watermark branding on it. Perhaps you want to control some of the features for how it's played very specifically.

Other things, like content videos you put on your blog, you want to make widely available so other people can embed and promote that content on their blogs as well. So it makes sense to put that content on youtube.

PS ... EZS3 is only about $20/month and will give you a player for your videos. It's not that expensive to get started with and works well. Their support is excellent.

I gotta agree with Will. I have had a youtube account banned before, and it was a serious pain to recover from. For salesletters you should really use your own hosting. S3 is extremely cheap.

It depends on how much storage and data transfer you have of course

        Amazon S3 Pricing

But I'm going to guess when you start, you will pay less than 10 bucks a month.

I seen a pretty easy to use software called sales video pro...you can google it and find it...as far as hosting i just use you tube..as long as you are the owner of the video i don't see how they will ban it. also there are many wp plugins that make embedding youtube videos pretty easy. I have optipress which comes with its own video player plus it has a lot of video squeez page templates and video sales page templates. That's my favorite way to go...everything in one place nice and streamlined..

Every marketing I see nowadays is using Amazon S3/Amazonaws. It gives you total control and allows you to maintain ownership of your work. As WillR stated, it's best to stay away from a third party. I completely agree! You don't want your videos pulled especially when you're trying to run a business. Maintain control of your work so that you call the shots.

Some great suggestions on this thread. Good luck with your decision.
