Who can I HELP today?
Whenever I visit this forum my primary goal is to find posts where I think I can add value and help someone. Now this may seem altruistic but it serves a purpose.
By looking through the threads I am not just aimlessly surfing around. I am looking for topics in which I have an interest and even some knowledge (hard sometimes!!) If I come across something that fits the bill I will read the thread and all the posts in reply to the thread. I have found that by doing this I have learned so much and at the same time contributed in helping someone. It has led me on journeys through the forum to places that I would have never ventured and I gained insight and knowledge in how other people do things.
I think this approach comes from my offline world where I do a lot of Networking and the mantra there is "Givers Gain" whereby by helping other people achieve their goals yo will be helped yourself (don't expect it though!)
