Hey guys,

I was just browsing Forbes to catch up on some business news and came acorss this article:

YouTube Reaches 4 Billion Video Views Per Day

Now thats big number! However, I myself have never really utilized youtube or video marketing in general to its full capacity.

What are some the strategies you guys are using in conjunction with video sharing sites?

Most of my clients will host the videos I produce on YouTube but will embed the video directly on their site. They use YouTube as more of a "video server" than for video marketing (such as gaining an audience, subscribers, etc and sending them to the website).

I think most of the view come from funny cat videos...lol...half kidding!

We use video as a short commercial for us..or for our clients on one of our Niche Sites... I really like to use it in conjunction with the Exclusive Advertising we offer clients via one of our sites...

By helping them create a Cool Short Commercial Video the Conversions went through the roof if they actually watch the Video... Like a 4x better conversion.

Video is here to stay...You either gotta embrace it or get left in the Dust IMHO.

BTW - That is a Huge # of video views according to forbes... Thanks for the share.

Thats how I use YouTube. I do make sales through YouTube specifically though (for physical products) but mostly use YouTube to host videos in which I'm showing off products.

If you upload unique videos onto youtube, meaning no copyright content or music, and if your videos get enough hits, youtube will start paying you for the ads they display on your video.

Yeah I was shocked at the numbers. I mean an hour worth of video is being uploaded every second! Thats something. I wonder what kind of servers youtube must be using lol.

All jokes aside, I have heard various uses of videos into a marketing campaign. The short commercials BrashImpact you talk about have brought a lot of success to a lot of people.

@BrashImpact: what do you define as short? Like how long would the mini commercial be?

Osman - We try and keep the commercials between 23 sec and 31 seconds as this seems to be the optimal window of time... We saw to big of an Abandonment rate when they were much longer...

The key here... We are looking for a very specific call to action.. whether it be a phone call, Link click, email sign up, text message or traffic to the Money site...

I think its really important...and where a lot of warriors really fail miserably, is they have no plan of attack with reasoning... Laying out a site, niche site or whatever the case may be... What do you want a Visitor too Do?

Knowing exactly what you want the visitor too do allows us to set things up in such a way and run testing until we have the very best recipe on that website for the Call to Action we are trying to Execute.

It allows for extremely laser targeted traffic with incredible conversions.. these are things I have rarely seen discussed on the WF in 4 years...

Well there are probably 2 reasons for that.

1 - They've been said 1000 times here while I've been a member, so you must have just not seen them.

2 - They're marketing 101 - the most basic concepts in marketing, so they're quick and easy to say and easy to understand.

YouTube traffic is powerful if you have the right strategy, the right niche, the right video production quality, etc. In other words, there are a lot of factors at play, but if you get it right, the traffic can be overwhelming. And it can be the right kind of traffic, which is even more important. Considering that YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world (read that again!), you're missing out on a big part of the game if you're not getting your piece of the traffic emanating from its search bar.

It is not about the format of your message (video, text, audio), it is about your message and how it connects with the target customer.

It doesn't matter if you have the best video production and quality in the world if the message in your video is not getting people who see the video do what you want. It's just like BrashImpact said above.

Right message + right audience + right offer = money

      This is SO on target!

You must have a market to message match.

But I think an even bigger lesson here is that we should ALL be doing LIVE video.

Nothing will build a relationship with your subscribers like LIVE video does.
When people see your face on video - they form an instant connection with you.
It's one of the fastest ways to build rapport with your readers.

And all you need is a flip cam.

The REAL money is in the RELATIONSHIP you develop with your subscribers
and the VALUE that you provide.

Simple videos do this better than almost any other content platform.

Keep it real. Show your personality and your subscribers will quickly become raving fans.

        This is so true.

Keyword research too, and also checking what is trending and hot on yotube. It took us about a full year to realise what is working and not working with video marketing and youtube, but once you realise what IS working it can do wonders for you.

That's not necessarily true: Report debunks myths about consumers and marketing videos | TechJournal South

Here's a brief synopsis of the link:
"Myth: More casual, YouTube-style, videos produced in-house can be seen as authentic, and are effective in building credibility and demonstrating products.
What the research shows: Professionally-produced videos with quality lighting and sound matter a lot to shoppers. Consumers appreciate high quality video production, and professionally generated videos receive greater engagement and are seen as more reliable when making purchase decisions.
More than half of consumers (54%) cited a preference for watching more "polished" professionally produced videos.
While only 30% of respondents indicated they were inclined to buy a product as a result of watching user-generated videos from peers, more than 47% of consumers called professionally produced videos "more reliable" in helping make purchase decisions."

Videos and YouTube are full of potential if you just get on with something. There's lots of strategies but the biggest one is just continuing to do one of them repeatedly.

I often use very short videos with just a few sentences of text and music to peak someones interest and send them to a site of mine.

Nothing fancy and sometimes my videos are just 30-40 seconds long thats all.

YouTube is really powerful. In my opinion almost all marketers should have at least some short video like Robert said.

The number of people who search YouTube is huge. When I want to find something I go to google for written information like definitions and YouTube for "how to", "why", "top" phrases. I find it to have more valuable results than Google.

We need to play it wise, like with Google.

YouTube is a really powerful tool, and in my opinion, it is the most underutilized platform on the internet in terms of potential. With so many unique visitors, if one can get their video seen by a large number of people, the chances of them visiting your website increases exponentially, and your earning potential is pretty much unlimited! It's quite easy to put up a video, and getting views is not THAT difficult either if one is willing to put a little bit of effort into it.

Yeah Youtube is the most powerful means to marketing I ever seen. For example, you could go to Clickbank find a good recurring trial product, do a video review or pay someone for fiverr to do for you. You can place a video on youtube build some good quality backlinks to it. Go to fiverr pay somebody to send some views, favorites, likes, subscribers to your video. From there you can just sit back and watch the traffic and sales come in, there are lots of people making 1,000s off of videos....I'm one of them.

Video Marketing is definitely the way of the web these days.

Youtube is a massive market potential but you have to do some testing to see what works and converts better.

Creating one video won't cut it, you have to build a following, develop your channel, and create backlinks for your videos, through press release submission, rss submission, bookmarking, social media etc.

I create Youtube videos everyday. I don't worry much about hits per individual video... i just keep pressing on more and more with my videos, and i see that it's working due to the number of Youtube subscribers i have and my total video views. I was able to double my results within just 1 week.

    You Tube Marketing Tip:

With you tube, make the last part of your video, the part that contains the call to action, run about 45 seconds longer than it neds to.

    Why?

Simple, if you do that, the last scene stays up there for the extra time. If not, the video ends, showing the multi-video window screen, and inviting the viewer to click on another video. Better you invite the viewer to click on a link to your site.

Just like any SEO strategy, video marketing does not guarantee money there and then. There are lots of factors that affect the success of your video. The definite indicator of success if the number of views that you get because you know for sure that a percentage of those who clicked and watched your video direct themselves to your professional website. You can also customize the links as the keywords to your page so that Google traces this and it can add up to your search engine results.

Video marketing and YouTube can be used in the same ways as traditional Website marketing SEO and Google.

Now that YouTube has its own search tool you can find a rough idea as to how much traffic certain keywords are getting and make a video for them.

The best part of Video Marketing is that you can literally BLAST backlinks to your video and have it ranking overnight in YouTube AND Google without getting any Google Penalties!

It truly is a breath of fresh air from doing traditional SEO.

Let me know if you have anymore questions about it, I am excited to share.

    Hope this helps,

I don't know exactly in which perspective you asked this question; but, I just left video marketing this month.

I was trying to build the list from videos. First, it's tough; second, the subscribers which I got from YouTube vidoes were not natural readers. They were only interested in videos, not in articles or in affiliate links. That's my experience.

On the other hand, I written only 2 articles and I got two sales immediately. In addition, the open rates of my emails are much higher. And, I think it's only because, people who read articles are also interested in reading my emails.

So, that's my experience. I tried video marketing 2 to 3 months but in the end I got that video watchers are not basically readers. So, for affiliate marketing, I feel, article marketing is 1000 times better than video marketing.

I tried it, and I am happy that I tried this thing. That's only my experience, I don't know what others have experienced in video marketing.

Video marketing has been alive and well especially on YouTube for years. However, it is usually done the wrong way. For example, some think they will get crazy conversions to their CPA offers if they make a short video related to the topic and link their affiliate link in their video. While this may get you a few conversions most people aren't going to follow such a spammy link.

YouTube is an excellent platform to host a vlog (video blog) which is linked back to your money site. Whether the content is original or syndicated from written media into video, you can provide viewers with quality material and give them a reason to visit your website.

This is just one example of what not to do and what to do. YouTube is growing at an enormous rate each and everyday and so is it's usefulness to IM.

Anytime you can get front-and-center in front of your target audience - where they can both see and hear for themselves that you're legitimate and not a "guru" wannabe or a scam artist - that's a good thing.

And, you don't need a Hollywood-sized budget to make great videos. As long as you take care of the basics (like a microphone that works, a background that's not distracting, and a script that's informative and engaging), you can produce awesome videos. It's all about being creative.

Also consider using hosted video. I have a strong YouTube marketing plan for my clients and my own lead generation, but there are a lot of benefits to using private hosting as well. I always use a hosting platform when I want to control the content, have an unbranded player for a clean look, prevent the content being embedded on sites you don't want it to etc. I have gone into detail in other posts on this, but at least for my work it is pretty important to have complete control over the video content.
