How do you sell?

I suppose to make money you need to sell something, whether an affiliate product or your own product or service. Of course money can be made through advertisement also, but that is a completely different subject.


I just wanted to ask how does one sell on the internet? You have your product ready and now are about to create a webpage where people can order your product.

You will need to talk about your product of course. So what exactly do you need or should you say, what will make people buy and what will put them off.

What does it take to make a sale?

    It takes a lot of things, but more important than any of them is providing a solution that people are desperately seeking for.

    That's where you start. Once you can do that, then the next step is to create an offer that makes them feel that they getting WAAAAY more value than what they are paying for it.

    The final thing you really need to to do is make them feel that their life will be completely hopeless if they don't take you up on you offer today.

    then, just tell them how to order.

    That's how you sell.

      Wow, those are strong words, I can see how saying to someone who wants to make money on the internet, if you don't buy this product you'll always be poooor.

      But in a second hand car shop how would you make em feel like their life is hopeless if they did not buy a car today?

      I see what you mean though, talk about the benefits and make them imagine how good they would feel with the product.

        I think instead of seeing their life is hopeless, help them feel their life is hopeful once again.

        Go read up on books on consumer psychology.

        It will certainly help you in your selling in the long term.

          What is it about the product that caught your attention? Why would YOU be interested in using it? Use these reasons to generate interest in the product. It's called Pre-Selling. Most online products already have incredible sales copy and videos or audios, so your job is to generate interest and get your prospect to click through. Let the tools do the rest.

    One word- You need traffic. You can have the best ad copy for a solution to a million people's problems but if you can't get them there, you won't sell one item.

    After that, it is the ad copy.

      Well, you gave a very broad question, so I gave a broad answer.

      There is obvious a science to it, and the best examples are subtle ones. It's much better to imply scarcity or the loss of the something and let the reader/listener/audience member come to that conclusion on their own than to try to use hardsell shock tactics.

      I'd recommend you focus on the first step until you master it, then the next and the third.
      So the first trick is meeting market demand. once you get good at that, then learn how to create irresistible offers. Once you get good at that, then learn how to use scarcity and fear of loss to really make your offers pull.

      that's the 20% that will give you 80% of your results.

        I started a new website where I sell stuff. I only use adwords and I see that I make 10 times the amount back that I spend on adwords. I don't have a sales letter, I just state the contents of what I sell, the price and 1 short 3-5 sentence paragraph on how it could help them or help others to which they will present what they buy. That's it. It's doing good. So adwords has been good to me.
