Is there any way of getting good images for free - for blog content, ebook covers, etc? (Other than paying x amount per credit on sites like stockphoto etc?

Does anyone use those image sellers and how much do they end up costing over say, a year?

Cheers
Dave

Try Stock Exchange Photos, stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site. I can usually find something here. Also, Flickr has plenty of stuff that you can use.

Thanks Lee.. I was trying Flickr when I used advance search in everystockphoto.com but so many of them require attribution and the name of the photographer is usually some weird made up name with no way of finding out who I am really supposed to be giving credit to - plus I'd prefer images I don't have to attribute credit to tbh

I use Flickr and Istock photo mostly.

Hey, if you don't want to give attribution you could always ask for permission. Many people are pretty cool with it as long as you ask first.

Sometimes you can find free photos if you search for "free clip art photos." Clip art is always reproduceable. The only issue is that sometimes you have to pay to access the clip art collection.

Use the advanced search features on Google and search for images that are available for modification and/or commercial use. Many times you will have to credit the photographer but that is, in my opinion at least, a very small price to pay.
