Have you seen Google's new Terms of Service?

Google is consolidating over 60 privacy policies and terms of service into one that will cover all their web properties. I found this item in the new terms of service interesting:
Don't misuse our Services. For example, don't interfere with our Services or try to access them using a method other than the interface and the instructions that we provide.
[emphasis mine]
It seems this would make all the various keyword software programs that access their site a violation of their TOS. Maybe that's against the old TOS as well, I don't know.

Just thought I'd throw it out there for comment.

It depends. If they give you an API to use, which they do in many cases, it's completely fine.

Scraping Google using proxy servers or other black-hat methods is a different story.

    Good point.

I am aware of the changes but, it keeps me wondering,
If the new Google TOS has a correlation with recent "SOPA".Coincidence perhaps?
