How soon do you offer a product to your list?

Hi guys, I've just been going through my auto-responder messages and writing new stuff for a new list. I'm up to message number 13 and I haven't promoted anything to them yet.

I know this is going to vary from niche to niche, but on average what number in the series do you offer your list your first affiliate product?

I obviously don't want them to get too settled thinking that the only thing I'll be doing is bringing them good content. It can't be good to leave them with nothing to click on for the first 13 messages, can it?

I'm thinking I need them to get used to clicking and hopefully buying, but when?

Any thoughts would be good!

Well, if this is your personal product I would always have a link to your sales page. Not necessarily a click here and buy type of link, but a link at the end of the email.

And then once you have warmed them up with a lot of free quality info 5 - 10 emails go for the sale. Something like: If you really want to jump start such and such, check out this great resource I offer...

If it is an affiliate product I would warn them up with 5 - 10 emails and then the "hey, look what I came across!" email and let them know how great it is and how it helped you do such and such and that you thought they might be interested in seeing the same results....

I like the idea of providing a good deal of value then offering a product. As to how often, only you know your audience and if you feel like you do not then get to know them and then provide a product that will genuinely help them alleviate a problem.

it's all a matter of preference and you'll get 20 different answers from 20
    different people.

Unless they are in my coaching program, they get sent offers immediately.

If they get on my coaching prospect list, I just keep trying to get them
in my coaching program until they unsubscribe.

    That's just me.

Many others do the same thing, many others don't.

    It's your call.

I would try both and see which makes you more money
and gets you the best response.

    Cheers,
