How Do You Normally React To The Unexplainable Drop In Clickbank Sales?

For the past 2 months, I've been getting a consistent 7-11 sales per day for my (Clickbank vendor) site through PPC traffic. All of a sudden, BAM. No sales yet for an entire WEEK. Traffic is the same. Checked hoplink analytics, everything normal. Checked Google analytics, everything normal. I even checked my server logs to see if I was hacked. LOL

Do I pause my PPC campaign until I figure out what's going on? Do I ride it out and hope maybe to get a cluster of sales that come in and even things out? What would/do you normally do in this situation?

  • I would pause the campaign, you're bleeding money. Could be a cookie issue, CB sometimes has issues.

      I agree with this.

I would contact Clickbank and let them know the trouble you are having. You could also contact other affiliates that use that vendor and see if they are having issues too. It could be Clickbank or the vendor itself. There could be so many reasons. Pause your campaign until you can figure it out.

        I would, definitely.

I wouldn't: you're losing money consistently at the moment. To go from 7 - 11 daily sales for many weeks to a consistent 0 every day for a week is significant. I don't think it's just "unlucky". This has all the hallmarks of a problem at ClickBank's end. These things do occasionally happen.

The OP is the vendor, Ryan.

I usually go and test my traffic sources, changing banner styles, and ppc ad text.

Year in and year out - seems like this thread topic is always popping up. I think it is a perpetual ClickBank problem.

      Yeah,,

I've also read of numerous similar issues over the years with CB. I almost

want to surmise as many have, that accounts at times simply get screwed
up. Whether it's a problem in their programming or the translations in
their switch - but I've read many an affiliate marketer that simply created a new
account, and "Wah la!" suddenly the issue resolved itself...
(I do not recall the effect of creating a new link)

I've spoken with CB myself, and verified they have no prob with multiple
accounts - so, just an FYI

My two cents - there! Go buy yourself a house!

Kindwater is right - it seems to be an "on again - off again" issue for them.

Just noticed you're a vendor - my bad. Have no idea when it comes to vendors

Have you set up tracking on your "Thank You" page to check whether or not there are sales happening (which you simply aren't being credited for)? In Google Analytics, you can set it up as a "goal" and track how many times that goal is reached each day - how many people land on your "Thank You" page.

If you've got people landing on your "Thank You" page but you're not getting credited for the sales, then there's a big problem.

Are your Clickbank affiliates getting sales for your product, or has that stopped too?
