Avoiding the new kid on G's block phase?

So I have been quite a busy bee....

I have built myself four sites in a month and they are all bobbing around in the Sea of Serps at various different positions - much like a group of fresh noobs precariously afloat upon half inflated rescue Dinghy, some of them might not make it nay, but the strong should survive, I hope!

One site has gone way out into orbit into the backend of Google’s nether regions - she is not even on the first 1000 pages (I figure I pushed too hard, too soon with the backlinks).

The others are floating up and down and all around. None are yet to reach front page. I am ok with the lack of frontpageness, they are but youngsters and so all in good time.

I do however wonder - if I had perhaps purchased some domains by auction, with a bit more age to them, could I have avoided the precarious stage I am now weathering? If you buy an established domain, does that help you avoid the proving ground or is that established purely on when big G indexes your new creations?

I ask because already my noggle is again impatiently brewing up new ideas. I can already see the eventual namecheap bill from paypal sitting in my inbox, followed by fresh yarn of wordpress spooled out to the vast, large interweb.

    Hi,

    I enjoyed your post

The answer is yes. By purchasing an aged domain with established pagerank, you can mostly avoid this jumping around, although, when you begin to grow the site and add content it will move up that much faster if done correctly.

If you follow a correct and prudent SEO strategy the age of a domain is irrelavent. I know many domains that have been registered and within 2 weeks are on top of their more established rivals. It is key that your sites are shown to have credibility. Backlinking is about quality over quantity and that is something that should never be forgotten.

Age Domain is irrelevant it is just a small advantage in the sea of 500+ ranking factors, we can call it #276

The question is what is your SEO strategy, do you have one, are you currently backlinking, if not your just floating around because there is no backbone behind the site.

The best strategy would be to get some social exposure first, work some stumpleupon, diggs, likes, and +1's

While that is going on find long tail keywords to start to do minor backlinking to, and choose secondary keywords ( harder ones) to rank for as well.

You can't just build and hope for a #1 spot.
