Just saying hello - I've been reading posts here for years; I've finally decided to join

Hello everyone -

Let me rephrase the subject title; I meant "for several months" I've heard from different people to stay away from this forum - I have no idea why b/c every time I have a question or need to research something this forum always provides me with the answers.

I currently work in finance/ accounting but recently found out about internet marketing (probably about 6-7 months ago) and I absolutely love it! I did nothing but read and listen to podcasts, etc. for the first few months and just recently started to actually do stuff (I'm currently trying to build a few niche sites but I plan to get my feet wet in other areas as well).

I look forward to meeting people in this forum - I live in San Diego so if you're from here too let me know.

    So, for "all these years" people have been telling you to stay away from this [internet marketing] forum...

    In fact, all these years you don't know why people would advise such a thing because for all these years you've come to the forum for getting questions answered by looking around...

    Do you see where I'm going with this?

      Thanks for pointing that out GMD; I must be tired; I edited my post accordingly. I also didn't mention why people said to stay away - they said b/c the forum was "nothing but a whole bunch of people trying to sell you stuff..." I know first hand that this is not true and I also understand how WSO's work.

        1. You'll usually find those people are the ones who tried to sell stuff here and didn't gain any traction. Sour pusses basically.

        2. I'm not sure why they are in Internet Marketing if they are against people selling anything, whether it be products or services.

        Definition of marketing...

        "The action or business of promoting and selling products or services."

        Yet they find it weird that an Internet MARKETING forum has a lot of people offering products and services? In fact a lot of those same products have been responsible for a ton of success stories around here.

    Hi irdrizzle! I'm not from San Diego, but nonetheless, welcome to the site! I'm glad you finally decided to join. Some people are, for some strange reason, quite anti-WF. This place has such an abundance of information, a lot of it from people who have been remarkably successful in this field. Good luck to you with all your IM related endeavors - hopefully we will see more than your footprints from now!
