Best way to declare income on the 'about' page.

We all know the 'about' page is one of the most viewed pages on a blog, so it's essential we nail it.

I'm going to be honest and tell my visitors how I earn money. I don't wont to deceive and maybe honesty will actually earn me trust.

I want to include something like:

I earn money by recommending products. This won't cost you extra, it comes out vendors profit. I've tried everything I recommend. It's helped me. My site and reputation is very important to me - I'll be honest and 'tell it like it is' in my reviews.

Something along those lines. Good idea?

It is not only a good idea to share that you are an affiliate but it is required by the FTC (not sure what applies to all countries).

And some sites like Amazon require that you have a very specific disclosure.

So yes, do add a disclosure to your website.

As a side note, Google requires a Privacy Policy and I see plenty of sites that don't have one.

I usually add PP and AD on the footer.

This is a more 'in your face' disclaimer.

I know a very successful affiliate who says something along those lines. He goes on to state that a percentage of his income goes to X charity. This can be a great idea, depending on your niche, especially if you're giving money to that charity anyway.
