Hi guys, I was wondering how much you should pay roughly for a PR 5 site with the following stats:

Dmoz listed
363 refering domains
37,000 backlinks
323 refering ip addresses
300 class c subnets

Thanks

Other people buy it for the page rank and traffic only. Not sure if someone will sell a website where he earns a lot from it.

if the site can give you a good income by using Adsense or any other means then i think taking it for a high price is also beneficial. cause establishing a PR 5 Site is not that easy these days!
if it have 10k+ visitors per month then without any doubt the seller should demand 1000$+.

    • I advise checking the following:

      1. Brand Name Equity -- Is the domain name relevant to a niche that's profitable according to your market research? Then, is the domain name relevant to a set of exact match keywords with good search volume, low competition and high estimated CPC rates? Afterwards, is the domain name relevant to a set of hot selling products or service offers which serve as solutions to immediate needs and urgent problems of a large group of people who regularly use the Internet to search for more details about effective solutions? Next, does the domain have good existing brand name equity? i.e. Its reputation among social networks, online groups and sites or blogs offering relevant and useful content to the intended audience...

      2. Existing Content -- Does it have good content useful for its target audience? Is this content not found elsewhere? Does it have many pages where a lot of contextually relevant websites link to? Does it have many pages indexed by Google?

      3. Backlink Profile -- Are links pointing to its pages found on contextually relevant sites and blogs with a large membership or mailing list base consisting of people included in the target audience? Do these linking sites implement PPC campaigns? Do these linking pages rank high for relevant keywords in Google?

Traffic and revenue details can easily be faked, or more appropriately: Traffic and revenue details are rampantly faked...

      Hope this helps...

Sorry guys, its purely for the backlinks behind it, redirecting it to my main site, Im currently sitting at number 5 got a keyword with 33,000 exact searches per month local. So thinking something like this would be worthwhile to boost me up the ranks. My site is only 6 months old.

So yes purely from a backlinking/PR point of view

    Thanks

      Three letters: R O I

      Next, three questions:

      1. Based on your market research, not just keyword research: How much do you expect to earn from such an investment?

      2. How much is it currently being sold?

      3. How much time and additional resources will it take for you to achieve the net profit margins you projected with such an investment?

Different factors are in play here, so these questions will help you in making an informed investment decision...

      Hope this helps...

Be very careful that the PR5 link isn't too powerful for your site...especially if you intend to give it a site-wide link.

Your site is very new, depending on its current links and PR you might push it down the rankings for a while.

I think it depends on more details: the buyer, the niche, what the market will bear, and what else is available for similar options and prices at the time you are selling. There is no right or wrong answer here. Just a range, perhaps. Keep us posted on how you make out, OK? I'd like to know!

Im not, I am after it for the amount of referring IP addresses. It could have been a PR3, I still would have bought it.

if u redirect it to u r mainsite, it will be deleted from Dmoz.. seems like dmoz does monitor the websites at some point..

Is the site content relevant to what your other website? I got a pr4 domain that was listed in dmoz and it got delisted , I changed all the content on it.. it is still ranking for keywords that I don't have on my website.. why?

Because of the anchor text links that are pointing to it and the relevant content... so basically if the 2 sites are relevant then yea it might work out.. but if they are not then Google will know and won't give u alot of benefits..

It depends on the revenue the website is making, the truth is that will someone auction off a domain that is making good money? Personally I would say between $150-$400
