Stock images: What do you PAY for?

We all know about the many great free resources for stock images. That's not the subject of this thread, however.

What I'm interested in, is what sort of images people put their hands in their pockets for. I'm talking categories, or even straight up you prefer the better quality!

So, what kind of stock images do YOU buy?

(As a side note, where do you get them!)

      Sorry, maybe my original post was a bit vague. What kind of photo content do you consider worth paying for?

        For my part, I know that vector images require a certain amount of work and talent to produce, and I'm willing to pay a premium for that. When it comes to regular photos or images, however, I'm a little more stingy.

    Shutterstock is great. Buying images is really the only way to be sure that what you are using is not going to get you into trouble. The other way to go is something like clipart.com that has images and photos and you pay a yearly fee.

    What do I pay for? Pretty much everything - just to be sure.
