I've read the rules of a WSO and how it needs to be a special offer and less expensive than others can buy it elsewhere....

OK, so I just ran across a WSO that was selling a single site script for $37 and the OTO is $67 for Multi Site License. That totals $104 total.

Ok, then I ran across the SAME product from the SAME seller and it was the Multi Site License for $97.

So my question is: Does the WSO rule apply when taking the OTO into consideration or is it just the first product of the WSO that is held accountable to the WSO rules?

Thanks

From what I have seeen the WSO upsell is seldomly taken into consideration...unless it is PLR or something like that

Trying to factor OTOs into the decision of whether a WSO meets that requirement seems like it would be a nightmare for the WF admins. I can't really see that happening.

The WSO is the product offered for the special price in the WSO forum.

The OTO is not part of the WSO.

It was my understanding that the main (first) product was the one that mattered. But we're talking about $7. Do you feel cheated somehow?

The OTO is NOT part of the WSO. This should answer your question. Any sales that happen outside of the Warrior Forum after the initial sale have to option to not convey Warrior Forum WSO posting rules.

    Ryan,

If there is no single-site license on the main sales site, or it's more expensive than the WSO, the answers you've got so far are correct.

That said, I wouldn't delete a question asking the seller why they were selling the original product as an OTO (at total cost) for MORE than at their main site.

    Is it technically allowed? Yes.

Is it what the Warrior Forum was meant for?... hmmm borderline I think.

I've said this before, I have noticed a number of people in the past doing that same thing where they create a cheaper version of their product specifically for the Warrior Forum in order to get volume through the door and into their upsell/normal product.

The other times I've seen it in the past they have priced their upsell the same as their regular product. In this case at least they have discounted the multi-site license although as you correctly point out, if you want the multi-site license then you actually lose out on this deal (compared to if you purchased it outright on their regular website) which is not really in the spirit of the Warrior SPECIAL Offer forum.
