Should I give up on my Web Hosting Affiliate Site?

Hi all, I am kind of a newbie to IM and Affiliate Marketing. I Been doing it for about 2 years now on and off cause of work and school but i have always had a passion for my web hosting affiliate site. I mean if i could make 1 to 2 sales a week thats like $300.00 bucks in my pocket so these past 6 months i have really been going hard on it to try to get it where i can make a few dollars of off it. Sadly to say i have not made one $1 dollar yet from my site I don't know if the web hosting industry is too competitive, my site doesn't convert, or i just need more marketing and seo done to it to get it more found in the serps "this is hard being that i am college student and currently don't have a job" So money is tight.

I am always adding new content to it cause content is king right? but still not one sale.... i feel like i am in a rut and just ready to give up but i've put so much time and effort into my site and really do have a passion for the web hosting industry "this site is my baby". if someone could just give me some advice on what i should change strategy wise with this and what should my next step be. Or should i just give up all together and try something different

I am honestly ready to rip my hair out of my head cause all i want to do is succeed online and actually make some money and i just am having no luck at all.
Here is a link to my site if someone can actually take the time to take a look at and give me pointers on what needs to be done and i am doing wrong it would greatly appreciated!

Seems like you should try marketing this site in a different way for example, try marketing the site by giving free information on webhosts, things to watch for, the bare necessities if you're starting a business online, etc. I would start building my list in that niche and give away quality content that will help people make a better decision.

I think your website looks good but maybe new people who need this information might be a little overwhelmed and need basic information explained to them about quality hosting and the reasons why. If you start marketing a free report to take care of these issues you might just get some sales.

When people go to your site there is no pre-sell and people who visit the site might be overwhelmed and don't know where to begin, like I mentioned earlier.

Even something as simple as a video on that page in the corner explaining some important things about web hosting might make a difference. If you are building a list have an image of the video in a popup box and allow them to sign up to get the free videos.

All the videos have to be are Q&A style... short and to the point... Answer their objections and you'll make sales.

Is there anyway you can offer a free ebook on "what to look for when selecting a webhosting provider"? You can take this angle, then add leads into an autoresponder, and follow up on them with more webhosting tips, then include a link at the end of your messages to lead them back to your webhosting affiliate page.

I get where you're coming from, OP. But I hate the phrase "give up." I prefer phrases like "refocus my efforts" and "start a new business." If this particular site isn't working for you, and you really feel like you've done all you can do, then it's simply time to focus on a new project.

I agree with Jon- there's a fine line between giving up and knowing when to just cut your losses. There's no harm in leaving it up, but maybe build a few small affiliate sites over the next few months, and then really focus on the ones that are getting results.

First of all: Do not give up!!!

Second of all: Sales are not everything if you are getting some views try to put some ads around your website you can make a few dollars from that to keep you going.

Third of all: Content is not king, Marketing is. Start by posting your site in your signature here. Then make posts that really stand out or grab a readers attention. Like me for example I'm a 13-year-old kid blogger so I don't need to look far for something that stands out but think what is special about you that no one else has. What extra qualities do you have. Once you have that, advertise market it tell everyone about it. This will ultimately lead to greater success.

You will also want to recognize the fact that 6 months is a lot but maybe not enough. Give it a year or two, market. Posting on these forums is a great start. Good luck!

No you definitely shouldn't. By the time you would give up, you could have a positive rank in the relative keywords. Keep one thing in mind: 'keep adding fresh and targeted content to your site'!
