Is your PayPal account secure?

I just read a topic about a guy who got his email account hacked and the hacker then got access to his PayPal account afterwards and he lost $2000.

Why do people use their personal email for PayPal (don't know if this user did)?

Imagine this:

- You signup to a random website offering a free e-book.
- The website owner does not encrypt your password for whatever reason (maybe he don't know how).
- The website get hacked.

Now what? Well, the hacker got your email and password he will then try to login to PayPal using those information.

So the question is; Do you use the same email and password for more than one site?
What about PayPal, do you use your PayPal email and password on other sites?

Thank god i'm using a separate email for my PayPal account and a random password

I dont use the same email address as I use for Paypal for any other services. That is for obvious security reasons - I do not want anybody to scrape my email address and try to login to Paypal using the same address.

The same goes with password - I have a unique password for every account. I think this is advisable.
