Who is Using E-Commerce and Wordpress?

Planning on putting together a small e-commerce site for my brother (3-5 products), and looking at using wordpress as ive found a great theme (Kassy Shop) and I am most comfortable and experienced with the cms, in comparison to joomla.

I just wanted peoples opinions and feedback from those that have or are currently using wordpress with their e-commerce site.

Any problems? Any plugin problems or plugins you would recommend for payments?

Thanks.

I never said I had an e-commerce site or that I am using a theme, nor is it perfect. I said I was planning on, in the first sentence.

I was asking for people who have had or are currently running e-commerce sites on a wordpress platform.

    Hi Will,

I've been using the WooCommerce plugin with the WooCommerce themes. They work a treat and include all the cart stuff etc.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Chris. Not really a fan of the WooCommerce theme to be honest, and am really set on using the one in my original post.

Is the woocommerce plugin only functional with woocommerce themes?

The theme above includes a really nice cart system, but its just the e-commerce/payment type plugin im worried about and their functionality.

Yes I believe the plugin is limited to the woocommerce themes....but I am not 100% on that one...

All of my custom shirt sites are run on WordPress.

Depending on the items you want to sell you should take a look at wpEstore (which is what I use) for a shopping cart. They also offer an affiliate program plug-in with it if you want to run an affiliate program for your products.

It actually seems like the theme I picked out is made to function and intergrate with wp-ecommerce, and only wp-ecommerce. Which isnt a bad thing, the theme is built specifically to work with it. So this seems pretty sorted from my end.

And it seems wordpress can function just fine as an e-commerce site from what im reading. So cheers guys.
