Hostgator hosting Help!!!

Hello everyone, I have always used the wordpress script with hostgator and I need alittle help. I used the template script in fantastico and how do i start writing content on the site and editing it?

    Once you have installed wordpress, you need to go to yoursite.com/wp-admin and then login with the details you set when installing it.

      I know how to use wordpress, I just dont know how to put content on the site after using the template script because you cant use wordpress and use the template script

    You want to edit the theme?

    If so, there is a theme editor embeded in wordpress.

    Also, you can find a theme in the wp-content/themes folder.

    Is that what you mean?

    hi don't really know what you're after doing...is it working in wordpress...you say you know how that works...

    is it you didn't want the blog as you index(home page0 and you are trying to use a template web for your web site ..?

    You need to be more specific. I use Wordpress all the time. I know what a template is and I know what a script is but I'm puzzled at what you mean by 'template script'.

    If I understand correctly you are referring on using the template and create a post. You need to upload your theme using an FTP software and upload it under theme folder /public_html/wp-content/themes/ then go to wp-admin and activate the theme there.

    My problem isnt wordpress I know how to use wordpress. The problem is that wordpress is the only thing I know how to use. When it comes to making websites in general I just don't know how it works

      You have to learn HTML. So you need to learn how to use HTML editor like NVU(free), PSPad Editor(free), frontpage and/or dream weaver. Then try to learn Photoshop to edit the images.

      Go to w3schools.com and learn HTML first.

    All you need is a free visual html editor such as Kompozer (Kompozer.net) and a ftp program such as Filezilla.

    That said, if you know how to use Wordpress I'd stick with that until you have time to devote to learning how to use the tools to edit and manage html sites.
