Sometimes you have to wake upand smell the coffee

Well it has taken me awhile to wake up and smell the coffee but after chatting to a few self-development guys I have now realized that I was thinking from a point of scarcity for ages.

See I put off outsourcing because although I have been making a full time online income for some time I still felt the need to not commit to employing anyone else.

It was almost like I was scared to pay out a few hundred dollars to take my business to the next level. Yet by not doing it I have stagnated for a fair few months now.

I need more time to do what I do best and that is product creation and marketing. So I will be in the next few days looking for people to cover customer services, build platforms, sales funnels and techy issues. This will really free me up and allow me to be far more productive.

When you think with scarcity you are thinking like you already have all you can ever get, but the real truth is that everything can be abundant.
By accepting this you open up the door to the future you really deserve.

Sometimes it is as simple as asking yourself what do I need to do to move my business forward right now.

A quick update. Employee now working for a few hours this week as a test for both her and me. I think that is important because it easy to forget that just because you don't meet an overseas worker they are a human being with needs and requirements as well.

The working model has to fit us both. I will update further as we progress.

    Congrats!
I am dealing with the same problem, and outsourcing is still scary for me.
And will definitely check back to read how you're coping with.
    Good luck

I agree outsourcing can be a little scarey. I guess it has to be some trial and error, especially if your not sure who you are dealing with. Sometimes it's a little hard to let go of control, feeling that the business just can't get along without you doing all things yourself, especially in a brick and mortar business. There are a lot of forum members who I'm sure that can give some advise on who and what to look for when outsourcing.
    Good Luck

P.S. nothing better than the smell or great coffee in the morning.

This thread isn't quite what I expected from the title, but yes I'd love to get someone doing the more tedious tasks. I even have an offer of 40 free hours of a virtual assistant's services, but I don't know what to have him/her do.

Wow! How in the world did you get 40 free hours of VA services?

I would love that to try. If it is possible for someone else to get it, how?

If you do not want to post it here, please PM me.

PM me and I will let you know the site that I use to get outsource workers and it is free.
I had over 30 people apply for the job ad that I put up.

There is no secret to it, but I don't think I can leave a link here. It won't hurt to PM me anyway. I like to chat.

Very cool! I've outsourced a few things, and the ROI can be insane. You can get some really fast outsourcers who work for $2/hour

Personally I've only used ODesk, and I usually get hundreds of applicants for each contract. Not sure what site you're using, but its one to consider.

Yeah, my mentor tells me the same - focus on the productive tasks and outsource everything else. Now I just need to do as he says

I have a similar experience, even though slightly different. Based in India, I started a small firm with 4-5 staff. They work on my sites as well as take work from outside. This works out well for me, as I get enough time to concentrate on what I do and not waste much time on technical work.
